After a couple of days of unpredictable pitching matchups, today looks solidified again. We are also expecting pitchers who participated in the All-Star Game to be available today, so there are many good pitching options.
On DraftKings, we are looking at the eight-game DFS slate, which begins at 11:35 a.m. ET. FanDuel doesn’t have an identical slate. Their main slate also starts at 11:35 a.m. ET. The difference is that it includes four additional games. None of those games will be in the recommendations to match DraftKings.

Sunday’s Top MLB DFS Picks & Player Props
Sunday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (7/20)
PLAYER | DraftKings Salary | FanDuel Salary |
Garrett Crochet | $10,400 | $10,300 |
Kris Bubic | $9,800 | $9,500 |
Andrew Heaney | $5,800 | $8,400 |
- It’s not an easy matchup for Garrett Crochet against the Chicago Cubs, who have a 110 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers this season. However, when Crochet is going as he has been most of this season, the matchup doesn’t matter. He has a 31.2% strikeout rate, which is the third-best mark in baseball.
- Kris Bubic has fallen off a bit recently, but the matchup with Miami is tantalizing. At the end of May, he had a 1.45 ERA. Since the start of June, his ERA is 4.24, but that comes with a 3.03 FIP, showing he has been a bit unlucky. Miami has only a .645 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season.
- Andrew Heaney is a roll of the dice if you are looking to save money. He could give you seven strikeouts over six shutout innings or seven earned runs. His matchup today is against a White Sox team that has struck out the third-most against left-handed pitchers at 26.6%
Suggested Lineup Stacks

OF | Ronald Acuna Jr. | $6,200 | $4,100 |
C | Drake Baldwin | $4,000 | $2,800 |
C | Sean Murphy | $3,700 | $3,200 |
2B | Ozzie Albies | $3,400 | $2,700 |
2B/3B/SS (FD) | Nacho Alvarez Jr. | $2,200 | $2,200 |
OF | Michael Harris | $2,700 | $2,600 |
SS | Nick Allen | $2,100 | $2,300 |
- The Atlanta Braves are finishing up their series with the New York Yankees today. The Yankees are expected to start Marcus Stroman. It’s been a struggle for Stroman this season with a 6.66 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. Left-handed batters have been particularly difficult for him with a .918 OPS against.
- If you can find the money for Ronald Acuna Jr., begin there. If the cost is too prohibitive, start your lineup with left-handed hitter Matt Olson and his .833 OPS.
- A slightly cheaper left-handed batter in the Braves lineup is Drake Baldwin, who has a hard-hit rate over 50%.
- One name you don’t see above is Marcell Ozuna. Check to see if he is in the lineup, as he has been out of it recently with a hip injury. If he is playing, his cost is falling to a point where it’s hard to ignore. He still has a nearly 50% hard-hit rate and is 2-for-6 against Stroman in his career with a double and a home run.
Philadelphia Phillies Projected Lineup (7/20)
POS | PLAYER | DraftKings Salary | FanDuel Salary |
SS | Trea Turner | $5,700 | $3,700 |
OF | Kyle Schwarber | $5,800 | $4,200 |
1B | Bryce Harper | $5,400 | $3,900 |
OF | Nick Castellanos | $4,200 | $3,100 |
C | J.T. Realmuto | $3,400 | $2,900 |
OF | Brandon Marsh | $3,100 | $2,600 |
OF | Max Kepler | $3,700 | $2,700 |
2B/3B/SS/OF (FD) | Edmundo Sosa | $3,000 | $2,500 |
2B/SS (FD) | Bryson Stott | $4,100 | $3,100 |
- The Philadelphia Phillies are being opposed by Jose Soriano today. Hitting home runs will be difficult for the Phillies, as Soriano has given up only one home run since the start of May. Yet, even though he has avoided the long ball, he hasn’t avoided a blow-up start. He’s had four starts since the start of June where he gave up at least five runs, including the last two.
- Bryce Harper has been the high-end fantasy asset we’ve come to expect in July after his wrist injury. In only 11 July games, Harper has nine extra-base hits, including three home runs.
- Kyle Schwarber is always in play, given his 100th percentile hard-hit rate. He already has 10 extra-base hits in July, including seven more home runs.
- Nick Castellanos doesn’t garner the hype (or the price tag) of some of his teammates. However, he is having another sensational season with 12 home runs and a .271 batting average. He is someone who likes the hometown atmosphere that Philadelphia provides, as he has an .836 OPS at home and only a .672 OPS on the road.
Core Studs
- One player I keep going back to is Jose Ramirez. His price is high at $5,600, but he’s averaging 9.9 fantasy points per game on DraftKings. That’s the same as James Wood, who is consistently being priced around $500 more on DraftKings. Today, Ramirez gets a left-handed pitcher in Jeffrey Springs. He has a .965 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season.
- When Oneil Cruz faces a right-handed pitcher, you should take notice. When he opposes a right-handed pitcher at home, even better. Today, Cruz is playing a home game against Aaron Civale. He has an .829 OPS against right-handed pitchers. Additionally, 18 of his 29 extra-base hits have come in home games.
- Jarren Duran is expected to go up against right-handed pitcher Cade Horton today. Duran has an .849 OPS against right-handed pitchers and only a .564 OPS against left-handed pitchers.
Value Plays/Punts
- Bryan Reynolds has not played up to his usual standards so far this season, with only a .226/.288/.372 slash line. Today, he gets a matchup against Aaron Civale. He has had success against Civale in his career with two home runs and a double in 17 at-bats.
- Salvador Perez is simply underpriced for the way he has been performing. Over the last 28 days, Perez has hit six home runs. Thirteen of his 14 home runs on the season have come against right-handed pitchers. Today, Janson Junk is starting against him.
- It has been a disappointing 2025 season for Jorge Soler. He is batting .212 with 11 home runs on the season. A matchup with Ranger Suarez could help. He is 3-for-13 against Suarez in his career with two home runs.
Sunday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Ranger Suarez (SP – PHI): 5.5 Strikeouts — Higher
Ranger Suarez has cleared 5.5 strikeouts in five of his last six games. The last game before the All-Star break was his one miss when he only had five strikeouts. Today, he faces the Angels, who have the highest strikeout rate against left-handed pitchers in all of baseball (28.3%).
Jurickson Profar (OF – ATL): 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI — Higher
Jurickson Profar is another Brave who gets a matchup against Marcus Stroman and his .283 batting average against. Profar has played in 13 games in July. He has exceeded this mark in 10 out of 13 games.
Jacob Stallings (C – BAL): 0.5 Hits + Runs + RBI — Lower
Jacob Stallings’ total bases line was also considered, but let’s go with this combo play instead. Stallings has played in 10 games since coming to Baltimore via trade. He has only exceeded this mark in three of those games. His batting average for the season is down to .136.
