HR picks for July 26
Kyle Schwarber (+215 at DraftKings)
Kyle Schwarber has always had big-time power, and we’ve seen it in full display this season. The slugger has 36 bombs and 82 RBI so far. He was brilliant in the series opener against the New York Yankees on Friday, going 3-for-5 with a pair of long balls in the 12-5 victory.Â
Schwarber now has four home runs in his last three games, also going deep in back-to-back contests before Friday’s contest. He’s red-hot, smacking 11 bombs in July alone. The Phils will face Marcus Stroman today, who has an ERA over five and has allowed five homers in just seven starts.Â
While Schwarber is just 3-for-14 lifetime against Stroman, he just destroyed the Yanks in the opener, and 22 of his long balls are off right-handed hurlers.
Randy Arozarena (+330 at DraftKings)
Randy Arozarena is only hitting .249, but his power output has picked up heavily in July, going deep nine times this month. That takes him up to 19 bombs on the year, and he just left the yard on Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels.Â
The Seattle Mariners face the Halos again tonight, and they send Tyler Anderson to the bump. Arozarena has enjoyed himself against the lefty, going 4-for-11 with a double and a homer. While he has only five bombs off southpaws, Arozarena is hitting .291 with lefties on the mound.Â
Anderson also has trouble with the long ball, giving up 18 in 20 starts, allowing one in each of his last three outings, too.Â
Seiya Suzuki (+285 at DraftKings)
Seiya Suzuki is a huge part of this impressive Chicago Cubs offense, hitting .254 with 26 round-trippers and 81 RBI. Suzuki has just four home runs this month, but he’s hitting .287 on the road compared to .222 at home, slugging 14 long balls away from Wrigley Field.Â
The Cubbies will be looking to bounce back in the Crosstown Classic today against the Chicago White Sox after Friday’s brutal loss. Suzuki & Co. will face Aaron Civale, who is a nightmare right now, allowing 11 earned runs in 20 2/3 July innings.
Civale has surrendered 10 home runs in 12 starts, and while Suzuki is a bit cold of late, it’s only a matter of time until he breaks out. With a struggling Civale on the hill, it could be today.
