Flanked by LIV Golfer Bryson DeChambeau, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, controversial New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor and WWE executive Paul “Triple H” Levesque, President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday establishing the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, and bringing back the Presidential Fitness Test.

The fitness test was originally established in the 1960s but ended during the administration of President Barack Obama. According to the White House, the goal of this order is to address “the widespread epidemic of declining health and physical fitness with a time-tested approach celebrating the exceptionalism of America’s sports and fitness traditions.”

Thursday’s executive order was the latest example of Trump’s focus on sports during his second term.

Earlier this month, he signed an executive order intended to bring order and stability to college sports. He also called for the NFL’s Washington Commanders and MLB’s Cleveland Guardians to revert to their previous team nicknames, even threatening Washington’s stadium deal if the Commanders did not comply.

He also made an appearance at the Club World Cup and earlier this year signed an executive order establishing a White House task force for the 2026 World Cup. He plans to chair the task force himself.

Furthermore, Trump announced plans to hold a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House during the United States’ 250th birthday celebration in 2026.
