Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Framber Valdez (SP – HOU) vs. BAL
Framber Valdez is a beast at home. According to FanGraphs, in 167 innings at home since last year, Valdez has spun a 2.16 ERA and 2.78 xFIP with a 1.05 WHIP, 7.8 BB% and 26.9 K%. Valdez has a dreamy combo of a tasty matchup and more delectable betting info tonight.
The Orioles are 21st in wRC+ (85) with a 23.9 K% versus lefties and 28th in wRC+ (80) with a 24.0 K% on the road in 2025. Thus, the Astros are listed as commanding -235 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
Chris Bassitt (SP – TOR) vs. TEX
Chris Bassitt’s 4.39 ERA in his previous five starts spanning 26.2 innings was notably worse than his 3.69 xFIP and 3.80 SIERA. Additionally, like Valdez, Bassitt is outstanding at home, albeit not as impressive as the aforementioned southpaw. Bassitt has tallied a 3.69 ERA, 3.67 xFIP, 1.35 WHIP, 7.9 BB% and 24.3 K% in 178 innings at home since last year. He can please the home crowd tonight in a plus matchup.
The Rangers are tied for 25th in wRC+ (93) with a 21.5 K% versus righties and tied for 22nd in wRC+ (92) with a 22.1 K% on the road this year. In addition, Texas was dead last in wRC+ (85) with a 23.2 K% in the previous 30 days. The Blue Jays are slight underdogs (EVEN), but the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.
Sean Manaea (SP – NYM) vs. SEA
Sean Manaea is another pitcher who’s excelled at home, making it a hat trick. In 108.1 innings at home since last season, Manaea has recorded a 3.82 ERA, 3.51 xFIP, 0.98 WHIP, 7.0 BB% and 27.6 K%. I ranked the lefty behind Bassitt because he has a more challenging matchup.
The Mariners are 10th in wRC+ (103) with a 24.9 K% versus lefties and tied for second in wRC+ (113) with a 21.6 K% on the road this season. Yet, Seattle is tied for 25th in wRC+ (91) with a 25.2 K% in the previous 30 days. Finally, the Mets are -120 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
Coors Field and another launching pad are hosting contests tonight. However, gamers shouldn’t sleep on Fenway Park. Ol’ reliable is tied for the fourth-highest park factor for runs (1.093). The Red Sox also have a cushy matchup against Sandy Alcantara tonight. Miami’s righty has a 6.55 ERA, 5.19 xERA, 4.54 xFIP, 4.75 SIERA and 1.45 WHIP this season. He’s also ceded a .326 wOBA to 263 left-handed batters and a .346 wOBA to 273 right-handed batters this year. Boston’s hitters should tee off on him tonight.
Sutter Health Park was the ballpark I not-so-subtly teased above. According to Baseball Savant, the Athletics’ temporary home has the second-highest park factor for runs (119) and a park factor of 111 for homers. The Angels will get a lift in the road contest. Jack Perkins isn’t an imposing matchup, either. The rookie righty has a 4.08 ERA, 4.21 xFIP and 3.83 SIERA in 10 appearances (two starts) this season. Moreover, he has a 7.15 ERA and 4.45 xFIP in 11.1 innings at home this year. Finally, the relievers for the A’s have the third-highest bullpen ERA (5.07) in 2025.
