The Los Angeles Dodgers are reigning solo at the top of the NL West after a 6-0 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday. The shutout put the Dodgers at a 70-53 record, with the team moving just in front of the 69-54 Padres with the win at Dodger Stadium.

The win came on the back of a solid night from Teoscar Hernández, who had a homer and an RBI sacrifice fly. On the mound, Blake Snell threw six shutout innings for the Dodgers, notching 62 strikes in 96 pitches and allowing five hits.

It didn’t take long for the Dodgers to get on the board, taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Hernández kicked off with a sacrifice fly that sent Shohei Ohtani home, before Michael Conforto hit a two-run RBI single.

Freddie Freeman added to that in the second inning, hitting another two-run RBI off a fielding error. In the fifth inning, a solo homer from Hernández — his 20th this season— brought L.A. to 6-0.

Padres starter Dylan Cease had a tough start to the game, allowing six walks in the first two innings and letting the Dodgers run up a 5-0 lead. He also ended with three errors, and only earned two strikes. Cease was taken out in the fourth inning after racking up 85 pitches, following Ohtani’s first hit of the game.

After a 3-2 win over the Padres on Friday that ended a four-game losing streak, the Dodgers officially lock up a series win. The two teams will face off again on Sunday to finish the three-game series, with Yu Darvish is set to start for San Diego and Tyler Glasnow set to take the mound for L.A.

But it won’t be long until they meet again: The Dodgers and Padres are set to play another three-game series in San Diego next week.
