The Milwaukee Brewers’ magical win streak has come to an end, as the Cincinnati Reds walked off the Brewers in extra innings. Reds designated hitter Austin Hays hit right down the left field line to send TJ Friedl home for a walk-off in the 10th inning.
Cincinnati’s victory ends the Brewers’ 14-game win streak, which was a franchise record, while also holding off a series sweep at home.
For a moment, it looked like the Brewers would be able to keep the late-game magic going, as William Contreras hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to take a late lead. But Reds catcher Jose Trevino’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth allowed Cincinnati to stay alive just long enough got Hays’ game-winning RBI.
