Matthew Stafford being back at practice is good news for Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but the risk of an aggravation to the veteran QB’s back injury remains a concern. That’s caused me to bump some other safer players — who are being selected in their ranges — ahead of them. I’m more willing to take the chance on the Rams No. 1 target Nacua, than I am on the 32-year-old Adams who hasn’t had much time to create chemistry with his new quarterback.

Chris Godwin has been activated from the PUP list, but before you get excited just know that the reports made it clear Godwin is nowhere near returning to action yet. He’s coming back from a serious injury that has me wondering whether the 29-year-old will get back to form in 2025. The Buccaneers’ decision to draft Emeka Egbuka in the first round makes more sense now and the highly-touted rookie is positioned to star right away. I’ve moved Egbuka up to the borderline WR2/WR3 range, with Godwin being a complete stay away outside of the late rounds.

Injuries are decimating the receiving corps for the Packers and 49ers, which has allowed Matthew Golden and Ricky Pearsall to shine over the summer. I continue to move both players up, now into fantasy WR3 territory and I’m drafting as many shares of them as I can at the moment.
