Matthew Boyd (SP – CHC) at SF
Among tonight’s probable starters, Matthew Boyd has the third-lowest ERA (2.61) and the third-lowest xERA (3.29) in 2025, adding a 3.93 xFIP, 3.90 SIERA, 1.04 WHIP, 5.7 BB% and 22.1 K% in 25 starts spanning 148 innings. The Giants are 30th in wRC+ (74) with a 25.1 K% versus lefties and 20th in wRC+ (93) with a 21.6 K% at home this year. San Francisco was also 21st in wRC+ (92) with a 24.5 K% in the previous 30 days. Thus, the Cubs are listed as a -130 favorite, and the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.
Chris Bassitt (SP – TOR) vs. MIN
Chris Bassitt is a solid-if-unspectacular hurler, but he’s at his best at home. In 183 innings at home since last year, Bassitt has a 3.74 ERA, 3.76 xFIP, 1.36 WHIP, 8.2 BB% and 24.2 K%. The Twins are unlikely to provide him with much resistance tonight.
