Houston Texans to win the Super Bowl (Originally +2500. Boosted to +3750 at FanDuel)
The Texans are going to win the AFC South and be a part of the tournament. This we know. Houston is also going to have one of the best – if not the best – defense in the land. That’s going to keep the Texans in most games.
C.J. Stroud is a better than average quarterback with weapons around him. If Houston can flip the script on a sieve of an offensive line – cleaning house from the group that gave up a bajillion sacks the past three seasons – the Texans will be a Super Bowl sleeper.
Seattle Seahawks to Make Playoffs (Originally +164. Boosted to +246 at FanDuel)
The NFC West is one of the more wide-open divisions in football. While the Seahawks are the long shots to win the West, they do boast the best defense in the division. Mike Macdonald’s stop unit is looking to pick up where it left off in the final eight weeks of 2024, which will keep Seattle in just about every game. This new offense is simple with a ground-and-pound approach that will also limit opponents’ touches and keep scores close. With so many tight games on the board, it wouldn’t shock me if Seattle seized the divisional and a postseason ticket.
Green Bay Packers Under 9.5 Wins (Originally -110. Boosted to +137 at FanDuel)
Jordan Love’s thumb injury this summer isn’t the start to 2025 the Packers wanted. While he’s expected to go in Week 1, I’m not buying into Green Bay as a contender.
The Packers have won 20 games the past two seasons and 13 of those wins came against teams with sub-par passers. We’re talking some real turds at quarterback. Go look ’em up.
They couldn’t hang with the NFL’s elite last season and stumbled in the NFC North, which is once again the most competitive group in football. The 2025 schedule offers very few layups and I don’t see them getting to 10 wins.
