Photo By – Imagn Images. Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Andres Gimenez (0) hits a single.

We’ve got a busy betting slate around Major League Baseball, including another game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers.

Andres Gimenez has been swinging a hot bat over the last week, and my Blue Jays predictions expect that trend to continue against a right-handed pitcher who’s due for some regression.

Blue Jays predictions for August 30

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Schneider stays hot

Andres Gimenez Over 0.5 hits (-163 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays host the Milwaukee Brewers for the second game of this three-game set. The Jays will start Kevin Gausman on the mound, while Quinn Priester takes the ball for the Brew Crew.

Preister has had a successful season to this point, sporting an 11-2 record with a 3.45 ERA. However, the underlying analytics aren’t as rosy, and the cracks in the armour have been showing over his past few starts.

He walked five batters in his last outing, and got tagged for a pair of homers in each of the two games prior to that.

Toronto’s offense was tamed last night for the most part, and they’ve seemingly hit a cold stretch in the lineup since their absolute beatdown of the Colorado Rockies back in early August.

However, Andres Gimenez boasts a .918 OPS over the last week. Although he’s best known for his defense, the Jays’ second baseman also loves playing at home, seeing his Rogers Centre OBP climb from .281 on the road to .322 at the Dome.

Gimenez has collected multiple hits in two of his last four starts, and the Gold Glover is one of the few Blue Jays who have experience against Priester, going 1-for-3 with a home run against the righty.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

    BetVictor

    Andres Gimenez Over 0.5 hits

George Springer Over 1.5 total bases

    Kevin Gausman Over 5.5 strikeouts

For the second leg of the SGP, let’s take George Springer to go Over 1.5 total bases. He’s 1-for-2 all-time against Priester and is hitting .429 against the sinker this season.

For the final leg, I’ll take Gausman to go Over 5.5 Ks. Gausman is averaging 6.4 strikeouts per start since the All-Star break, and the Brewers own a 29% K-rate against the splitter.
