Canelo Alvarez has always been a reserved figure despite his sheer dominance in the sport of boxing, but a rivalry with Caleb Plant brought out the fire in the Mexican.
In just a few weeks’ time, Canelo Alvarez clashes against Terence Crawford for the undisputed super middleweight title in what will be the biggest boxing fight in recent years.
Not only is the fight highly anticipated because of it being an intriguing matchup, but it is also the inaugural boxing event promoted by TKO boxing’s Dana White and Turki Alalshikh.
And when the two stars faced off for the first time earlier this year, White had to step in to stop a brawl almost breaking out.
This time, though, Canelo was able to keep his composure, which is something he wasn’t able to do when he clashed with Caleb Plant ahead of their 2021 fight.

Canelo drew blood when he and Plant clashed in a huge pre-fight brawl
In May 2021, the Mexican champion beat one of his most hated opponents when he finished Billy Joe Saunders in round eight of their clash at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
And not long after, he began talks to finally make an undisputed super middleweight title fight against the then-undefeated IBF champion, Caleb Plant, with the winner set to become the weight class’ first ever undisputed champion.
A few months before their scheduled clash, Canelo and Plant took part in a pre-fight press conference to build up the anticipation for the fight.
And they did just that, as during their first face off, Canelo shoved Plant across the stage, sparking a huge brawl.
Plant quickly walked back towards the Mexican after being shoved and threw an open-handed slap which Canelo evaded with speed and returned what seemed to be three to four open-hand slaps of his own.
Finally, some security stepped onto the stage and separated the fighters, but it was too late, as blood was already drawn as Plant’s nose leaked blood.
Canelo went on to make boxing history by beating Plant
The Mexican dominated for the large majority of the fight and in round 11, he made history after landing a left hook and subsequent uppercut, dropping Plant to the mat.
Despite making it back to his feet, Canelo swarmed Plant and dropped him again, resulting in the end of the fight, making the Mexican the first undisputed champion of the weight class.
