We’re back for the second edition of FantasyPros’ expert consensus rankings (ECR) fantasy football risers and fallers, just in time for last-minute drafts.
Monitoring average draft position (ADP) trends can help you stay ahead of your competition, so it’s always important to keep a close eye on this. Unlike traditional ADP, our Real-Time ADP quickly detects changes in a player’s average draft position. Instead of showing you where players were drafted yesterday, Real-Time ADP shows you where they’re being drafted now.
Keep reading to find out about five risers and five fallers in ECR.
Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers
Fantasy Football Risers
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR – SEA)
The market is starting to gain confidence that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is poised for a career year with the Seahawks. He is one of my favorite targets at wide receiver, set to dominate targets now that DK Metcalf has been replaced by Cooper Kupp. Don’t worry about the shift to Sam Darnold at quarterback, as he’s in a perfect scheme for his talents with Klint Kubiak as the team’s new play-caller. Remember that Kubiak worked with Darnold when he was with the 49ers.
Terry McLaurin (WR – WSH)
Terry McLaurin is more of a safer pick than before now that his contract issues have been resolved with the Commanders. However, I’m still fading him because he’s now priced at his ceiling. If you look at his career numbers, yardage was all in line with his norms. The reason he had such a big year was due to an unsustainable touchdown rate, which was a major outlier compared to previous seasons.
Rome Odunze (WR – CHI)
Rome Odunze is starting to move up in fantasy football ADP following a terrific camp, where some beat writers have even signalled that he could be the No. 1 WR. I’m not buying that, as DJ Moore has too much of a track record to cast aside so quickly, but I see the appeal with Odunze as an upside WR3 who can make big plays downfield. Just make sure to insulate against his risk by taking him as your WR3 rather than WR1 or WR2.
Dak Prescott (QB – DAL)
Dak Prescott got more good news for his fantasy value this season when the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers. This is a major loss for this defense, which could force them to even more shootouts than initially projected. Expect to see a pass-heavy offense with a limited running game, with Prescott consistently airing it out to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Tyler Warren (TE – IND)
Tyler Warren has been a major riser throughout camp after looking terrific in preseason. What was once one of my favorite targets is now firmly within the top seven tight ends in ADP, which feels like a ceiling price. With that said, I’m still bullish on Warren because I believe he’s going to be the focal point of the Colts’ passing game. Expect Shane Steichen to design layup looks for Daniel Jones to find Warren.
Fantasy Football Fallers
Bijan Robinson (RB – ATL)
Bijan Robinson has started to fall as low as fifth overall due to the Falcons’ injuries on the offensive line. I wouldn’t worry too much about that because Robinson is one of the best receiving backs in the NFL. Any decline in rushing efficiency can be overcome with receiving output. I suggest continuing to draft Bijan at first overall with confidence. We could see a truly special year from one of the best running back prospects in recent memory.
Jauan Jennings (WR – SF)
Jauan Jennings has been dealing with a calf injury and could be placed on injured reserve (IR). He’s also in a contract dispute, where he requested a trade. It’s just not a good situation right now, and Jennings doesn’t have enough of a track record to warrant a stash. With that in mind, I suggest completely avoiding him in your drafts. If you want a 49ers pass-catcher, just pay up for George Kittle.
Jakobi Meyers (WR – LV)
Jakobi Meyers is another faller after he requested a trade, and the Raiders signed Amari Cooper. While Cooper is firmly on the decline, he’s only one year removed from a terrific season with the Browns, so we can’t count him out. Simply put, there’s not enough upside to justify taking a chance on Meyers, even at the discount. The target competition is now stronger. Also, what if he gets traded to a spot where he’s more of a complementary piece?
Jayden Reed (WR – GB)
I came into the offseason heavily targeting Jayden Reed. But after Matthew Golden had such a strong camp, and Reed missed time with a foot injury, I’m staying away, even at his discounted price tag. Reports indicate Reed is going to play through a foot injury, which could lead to suppressed production or even worse, missed time. It’ll likely be tough to determine when the best time to start Reed is, so I’m staying away.
Isaac Guerendo (RB – SF)
Isaac Guerendo came into the offseason as an intriguing handcuff to Christian McCaffrey. However, those days feel long gone after the 49ers traded for Brian Robinson Jr. Kyle Shanahan publicly anointed Robinson as the No. 2 back in San Francisco, making Guerendo undraftable in all formats. Just take the former Commander if you want to get a piece of the 49ers’ backfield without paying up for McCaffrey.
