Hold onto your seats, NFL fans, the biggest event of the year could soon be taken over by Swifties.
When Super Bowl LX is played next year, on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the halftime entertainment has been speculated to feature world-renowned singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. Nothing is official, however. When questioned about it during an interview on the Wednesday morning episode of TODAY, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s answer was “maybe.”

“Is Taylor Swift invited to play the Super Bowl this year?” TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie asked Goodell.
“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” Goodell said.
“Is it a maybe?” Guthrie pressed.
Goodell didn’t show his cards, though. “It’s a maybe.”
Swift, who recently became engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, received high praise from Goodell during the interview with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin. Since going public with their relationship during the 2023-24 NFL season, Swift has been a frequent attendee at Chiefs games in support of Kelce, though not all NFL fans have welcomed her occasional appearances on the big screen.

The duo also pressed the commissioner for a timeline on when fans might hear an announcement on the Super Bowl halftime show.
“I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z,” Goodell jokingly responded. “It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”
Rapper and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, along with his company Roc Nation, has handled the Super Bowl halftime festivities for the past several years. While the Super Bowl halftime shows under Jay-Z’s leadership have leaned more toward hip hop culture, pop artist Shakira was on stage for the Super Bowl LIV halftime show in February 2020.
Goodell didn’t guarantee anything, but it sounded like there is a strong possibility that Swift and her followers could descend upon Super Bowl 60. The NFL is all about ratings, and having one of the most prominent performers in the world with her dedicated fan base would be a huge ratings coup for Goodell and the NFL. Following Swift’s first appearance at an NFL game in support of Kelce, Chiefs ratings spiked, and Kelce’s jersey sales reportedly increased by nearly 400%.
