DAVID BECKHAM has told Manchester United’s flops he hopes they’re suffering just as much as the fans, after yet another battering from City.

The Old Trafford legend says watching the Red Devils lose to their noisy neighbours has become a “hard watch” and admits he’s “fed up” with the team’s decline.

Beckham told CBSSportsGolazo: “Being an ex-player and a fan I would hope that they are hurting like we are as fans.

“And I’m sure they are, because they’re not going out there not wanting to win games.”

United were thumped 3-0 at the Etihad in the latest derby-day humiliation, despite the club backing boss Ruben Amorim with the signings of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

The Portuguese coach replaced Erik ten Hag, who was axed after a disastrous first half of the 2024/25 campaign.

But Becks says it doesn’t matter who’s in charge, the players need to feel the same pain as the supporters do.

He continued: “They’ve just come up against a team like Manchester City at Manchester City.

“And when you lose a game like that, you don’t go out for a while, because if you do, you’ll just bump into United fans.”

Beckham, who unlike many of his former team-mates rarely speaks out about Manchester United’s problems, added: “It was a very hard watch.

“And like I said, as a United fan, I’m kinda fed up with watching these games and seeing what we’re seeing.”

United fans are growing restless as another season threatens to spiral.

And with performances flatlining and results worsening, Beckham’s brutal honesty may only echo the wider mood around Old Trafford.

Two of Beckham’s former team mates Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt – have said manager Amorim has been worked out by other managers and will have to change his ways or bite the bullet.

Butt said on The Good the Bad and the Football podcast: “If he wants to get results and keep his job in the long run, he is going to have to bite the bullet and change a bit – otherwise they’ll keep losing games.”

While Scholes said the manager has got them playing like robots: “There’s nobody in there to take responsibility, there’s experienced players there but nobody gets a grip of it.They’re like robots.”

Under Amorim, Manchester United have made the worst start to a Prem season since 1992 – with just four points from their first four matches.
