Game Outlook
Week 6 in the NFL kicks off on Thursday when the 4-1 Eagles travel to MetLife for an NFC East showdown with the 1-4 Giants in a game featuring a lowly 40.5 total; Only PIT/CLE has a lower game total this week, so oddsmakers certainly aren’t projecting a scoring bonanza in this one. Let’s start on the Giants side of the ball here as we now have two games with Jaxson Dart under center. In Weeks 4 and 5, the G Men have trended run-first when the scoreboard as allowed. In a 112 play sample over the last two weeks when the game has been within one score, the Giants are throwing at just a 41% clip. Now, they get a friendly matchup against an Eagles defense that ranks 30th in rush success rate allowed versus 8th in drop back success rate. So long as this one stays close, I suspect we’ll see a run-heavy game plan on a short week, especially considering New York is down Malik Nabers (ACL) and Darius Slayton (Hamstring). Of course, that could change if the Eagles can get out to a big lead as 7.5-point favorites.
