Charles Oliveira called his shot after scoring a homecoming win at UFC Rio.

The former UFC lightweight champion tapped out Mateusz Gamrot with a rear-naked choke on Saturday night.

Post-fight, Charles Oliveira asked the UFC brass to make a dream rematch for his next fight.

Ahead of a potential rematch, learn what happened when ‘Do Bronx’ fought Max Holloway in August 2015.

Watch Max Holloway TKO Charles Oliveira

Charles Oliveira was booed out of the cage and labeled a ‘quitter’ after his first-ever UFC main event

Max Holloway was in the middle of his legendary 13-fight win streak when they fought at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Charles Oliveira was doing well too, having put together four consecutive victories at featherweight.

Still, the Brazilian was still years away from becoming the great fighter that won UFC gold at 155lbs.

About 90 seconds into round one of his fight with Holloway, Oliveira shot for a takedown and ran right into the Octagon wall.

‘Blessed’ easily shook off the grappling attempt, and stepped away when his submission specialist opponent tried to pull guard.

Oliveira stood back up but didn’t look like he wanted to fight anymore; it was unclear why.

The fan favorite held his shoulder with one hand and stretched his other arm out to give up.

Holloway hit Oliveira with two body shots as he crumbled to the floor, prompting the referee to step in.

Despite seemingly suffering a serious injury, Oliveira was released from hospital the following day and tested negative for major chest, neck, and/or throat injuries. It was later confirmed that he suffered a minor neck injury, which did not require surgery.

Many don’t know that Holloway vs. Oliveira occurred at featherweight, but it ended with Oliveira’s body shutting down. Good to see both get a rematch. #UFCRio pic.twitter.com/bf8ik5Sf7h

Max Holloway responds to UFC Rio call out

Max Holloway suggested a date and location for his potential rematch with Charles Oliveira after UFC Rio.

The BMF champion says he wants to return sooner rather than later after beating Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 in July.

“Why wouldn’t I be interested in that?” Holloway said of an Oliveira rematch.

“Me and him have a history. He’s blaming it [losing the first fight] on some type of injury.

“Maybe February?” Holloway continued, adding March could work out as well.

“Fight in Las Vegas or something. We fighting on my terms, brother.”
