The show opened with a recap of the events from Halloween Havoc before going live to see Trick Williams throwing a fit backstage while looking for Ricky Saints.
He eventually made his way into the ring, grabbed a mic, and started ranting about how he has been running things for years and should have won at Halloween Havoc. He called out Saints for another title shot.
NXT general manager Ava came out with a couple of guards and said throwing a tantrum won’t get Trick what he wants. Saints eventually came out and got into a fight with Williams while security tried to pull them apart.
This was an energetic way to open the show. It pushed this feud forward and had the crowd reacting a lot. Although Williams was not clear about why he thought he deserved a rematch, this was still good stuff.
