The Giants will have another new kicker when they take on the Bears on Sunday.
Graham Gano didn’t travel to Chicago, officially setting up Younghoe Koo to takeover kicking duties for Sunday's contest.
Koo hasn’t officially been elevated from the practice squad yet, but Brian Daboll indicated on Friday that he’d be Big Blue’s choice if Gano were to miss another game.
“If he has to be the guy, he’ll be the guy,” the head coach said.
Gano sat out of practice all week due to a herniated disk in his neck.
Koo’s been on the practice squad since Gano’s first injury, but he failed to surpass Jude McAtamney as the replacement.
McAtamney filled the role for four weeks, but was released after struggling.
Gano has appeared in each of the past two games, but now he’s back on the sidelines with another injury.
Despite the long wait, Koo is ready to make his Giants debut.
“I'm grateful for the opportunity,” he said. “I’ve been making it count every week and just staying ready.”
