SAN FRANCISCO — Seth Curry is set to sign with the Golden State Warriors on Monday, according to a league source.

It’s a deal that has been in the works for months, with the Warriors waiting on the cap space to make it happen, as The Athletic’s Danny Leroux explained recently. It’s also a deal that finally puts Curry on the same team as his older brother, Stephen, a pairing that the two have been excited about since the preseason.

ESPN first reported that Curry would officially sign on Monday.

Seth Curry admitted during training camp that he actively tried not to team up with his brother in the early stages of his NBA career because he wanted to create his own path.

“I didn’t really want to be on the same team as Steph, for whatever reason,” Seth said in October.

Seth, 35, spent training camp with the Warriors but was waived before the season because of the salary cap restrictions. He shot 45.6 percent from the 3-point line last season for the Charlotte Hornets, and he has carved out a long NBA career centered around his ability to knock down shots and fit into any locker room he’s placed in.

Seth should be able to find a quick niche with this Warriors group, given that they have struggled with consistency from the outside. Especially as Stephen, 37, recovers from a quad injury suffered during a Nov. 26 loss to the Houston Rockets that is expected to keep him out for at least a week.

The Curry brothers had fun with the long-awaited reunion during the weeks leading up to the season. They traded jerseys during an open practice in front of fans at Chase Center and have an appreciation for coming together at this stage of their respective careers.

Now, Seth gets a chance to make his mark for a Warriors team in need of shooting help, and potentially soon play with his older brother in an NBA game.
