With the Milwaukee Bucks spinning their tires in mud, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future is suddenly in play. Chris Vasile breaks down the early odds, the real landing spots, and why the Knicks and Rockets are already circling.

Milwaukee is stuck in neutral, and Giannis Antetokounmpo suddenly sounds less convinced about staying long-term.
According to Shams Charania, “Antetokounmpo and his agent Alex Saratsis have started conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP’s future — and discussing whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere.”
That news has reignited the Giannis Antetokounmpo next team odds, and the top landing spots won’t sit well with most.

The favorites
New York Knicks
According to Adam Schefter, the New York Knicks are on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s radar:
Knicks emerged as the only team that Giannis Antekounmpo expressed an interest in over the summer, per @ShamsCharania. https://t.co/ILjHvfYBn1

From now until this saga concludes, we will hear a lot about the New York Knicks and what they could package to lure The Greek Freak to the Mecca of basketball.
All packages would likely start with Karl-Anthony Towns and one of OG Anunoby or Mikal Bridges and include several draft picks and pick swaps.
Would the combination of Jalen Brunson and Giannis be enough to get the Knicks back to the pinnacle? Probably not, but it would be one hell of a ride.
Milwaukee Bucks or retires
It’s hard to imagine Antetokounmpo retiring at the age of 30 and still in his prime.
On his day, the Greek Freak is a force of nature, and one of the hardest players to contain in the paint. So, that rules out that part of the question.
Now, you have to ask yourself if he’s trying to light a fire under management’s butts to get him so actual help, or if he is already checked out.
It’s tough to know what a player is thinking, but in the NBA, the star players usually get what they want.
I see him leaving this year.

An intriguing landing spot
Los Angeles Lakers
Let’s face it. The Los Angeles Lakers are in on every big name that becomes available through either trade or free agency, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is no different.
Most teams would be hesitant to trade for a player of Antetokounmpo’s caliber, simply because the price would be steep, but the Lakers are always in “win-now” mode.
They could build a package around Austin Reaves, and one of Gabe Vincent, or Rui Hachimura, and a boatload of picks, but their bench would be mighty thin as a result.
As a casual fan, I’d love to see LeBron, Luka, and Giannis on the same team.
