THE SAUDI PRO LEAGUE is set to fund a bid for Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah if he decides to leave Anfield after losing his place in the starting line-up.

Salah, 33, has found himself on the Reds’ bench in back-to-back Premier League matches for the first time in his illustrious eight-year stint in the club.

Saudi Arabia will make a move if Salah decides to leave Liverpool after being benched

The Merseysiders’ under-fire manager Arne Slot omitted the star forward from his starting XI against West Ham and Sunderland.

According to The Telegraph, this development has caught Saudi Arabia’s attention following the SPL’s failed bid to land the Egypt international on a free this past summer..

Salah appeared close to leaving Liverpool as he stated he was “more out than in” but ultimately signed a new two-year deal in April.

Saudi giants Al-Ittihad also saw a staggering £150million bid getting rejected in 2023.

Jamie Carragher labelled ‘absolutely pathetic’ over Mo Salah remarks

The ex-Roma star, though, recently revealed he still has a good relationship with the SPL.

Salah said: “My relations with SPL officials are very good, we talked a lot and the negotiations were serious.

“It was a good opportunity to me, if I hadn’t renewed with Liverpool it would have happened.”

Saudi clubs have scaled back spending after splashing the cash for high-profile names in 2022, which included Cristiano Ronaldo going to Al-Nassr.

However, the same source claims the necessary funds are still available for a superstar like Salah, who perfectly fits the SPL’s profile.

The Egyptian superstar has so far amassed five goals and three assists in 19 appearances across all competitions this season.

This adds to his grand total of 250 goals and 116 assists in 420 appearances with Liverpool.
