“The Tarantula” cut Barboza with a lead elbow in the early moments of the contest and never allowed him to get into the fight. He stayed on the soon-to-be 40-year-old, but was measured with shots, taking his time to land impact blows that left Barboza staggering around the Octagon before Turner finally sent him to the canvas and secured the finish.

This was a brilliant effort from Turner, who is still just 30 years old. He has an abundance of talent and tremendous size for the division, where he was ranked in the Top 15 in the past. While a return to the rankings may not follow this victory, Turner is on the right track for earning a number next to his name again following his return to the win column at UFC 323.
