CPT Plays
Jalen Hurts $15,900 | FLEX $10,600
Hurts can get it done in the air or on the ground. The Chargers allow the fourth most scrambles in the league (6.88%), and Hurts averages 29 yards rushing on the road (compared to only 23 at home). He’s averaged 36.5 passing attempts in the last two games (both losses). In the three matchups in which A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith finished as WR24 or better, Hurts scored 30, 27, and 30.9. The game theory on this play is “How does he get there?” If he does so through the air, he’s likely bringing his two alpha WRs with him. If he’s not, I’d look to get different by pairing with Barkley or running him naked with Elliot, PHI DST and a dart throw.
Justin Herbert $15,000 | FLEX $10,000
Leaning into Herbert at CPT is a way to leverage the field amid fear and a micro-sized 1.68%(!) pOwn. The injury on his left hand isn’t as serious as it may seem: the surgery was on his fourth metacarpal (ring finger), and he will wear a protective glove. Doctors threw plates and screws, but considering it’s his 4th (not the 2nd or thumb) it’s all good – well, mostly good. He’ll play out of the shotgun most of the game, and we all know he got dat dawg in him. He’s no stranger to 26+ point games, and with the hand, I wouldn’t be surprised to see four to five rushing attempts for 20ish yards.
Saquon Barkley $14,400 | FLEX $9,600
Saquon is not a fun fantasy asset in 2025. Outside of his 36.4 point explosion over the Giants in Week 8, he’s averaging only 12.4 fantasy points per game. But the Chargers’ strength is in the passing game, and Barkley can exploit what they struggle with: rushing TDs and light boxes. The Chargers have given up the fourth-most rushing TDs (14, 1.2 per game) and have the third-lowest heavy box rate at 58.3%. Barkley will get space to work if the O-line can find a way to function without cornerstone Lane Johnson. Barkley’s pedestrian four rushing TDs are due to improve.
