Arman Tsarukyan confronted MMA Guru recently regarding the latter’s thoughts on a potential mega fight between two of the top pound-for-pound ranked fighters in the UFC today. The surging UFC lightweight contender appeared with the controversial MMA pundit on a recent live stream curated by Adin Ross.
During this stream, Tsarukyan stated how he thinks the reigning UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria would have no chance against the current UFC welterweight titleholder Islam Makhachev. Then Tsarukyan asked MMA Guru if he thinks Topuria can beat Makhachev, with MMA Guru then quipping about how he thinks Topuria could defeat Makhachev at 155 pounds but not at the welterweight limit.
Responding to MMA Guru’s assessment of the hypothetical Topuria vs. Makhachev clash, with an excerpt of the live stream posted to X account @ChampRDS, Arman Tsarukyan said,
“Bro, you know nothing about MMA. Bro, why are you like working as an interview guy? You know s** t about MMA… ok, 165… Islam [Makhachev] fighting at 170. He’s not 155 fighter anymore… He [Ilia Topuria] has just boxing, that’s it.”
Arman Tsarukyan stops multiple takedown attempts from MMA Guru
Arman Tsarukyan and MMA Guru also had a bit of an in-ring encounter with one another, with a money bet component on the line. Tsarukyan and Guru had a grappling showdown with a twenty-thousand-dollar bet tied up in the matter.
The number one-ranked UFC contender at 155 pounds thwarted three takedown attempts by the much larger appearing MMA Guru, with the YouTube commentator falling to the canvas multiple times. Tsarukyan outgrappled the online pundit while wearing a pair of dress pants, and it transpired during the same live stream on Ross’ Kick account.
The mixed martial artist was able to establish early wrist control to dictate the pace of things, kept things at a comfortable distance, large in part, and was always noticeably in control throughout.
