MANCHESTER UNITED have officially confirmed the departure of Sam Mather.
Kayserispor reached a deal to sign the Red Devils academy graduate, who enjoyed loan spells with Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers, earlier this month.

But the deal has only just gone through, prompting an official statement from the club.
It read: “Manchester United forward Sam Mather has joined Kayserispor on a permanent deal.
“The 21-year-old has featured predominantly for our Academy sides and was part of our FA Youth Cup-winning squad in 2022.
“Mather has previously enjoyed loan spells at both Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers, but is set to embark on a fresh chapter in Turkey.

“Mather joined the Reds as a teenager and memorably scored four times against Norwich City back in January 2024 for our Under-21s at Old Trafford.
“The forward will link up with Kayserispor, who are currently 16th in the Turkish Super Lig and are managed by Radomir Dalovic.
“Everyone at United wishes Sam all the best in his next footballing step.”
The confirmation of Mather’s Turkish transfer comes just days after he penned a heartfelt goodbye to the Old Trafford faithful on social media.
Alongside a slideshow of his United highlights, Mather wrote on Instagram: “After 14 years my time at Man Utd has come to an end.

“I would like to thank all the staff and players who have helped me become the person and player I am today.
“I will always be grateful for my time here and wish the club all the best.
“On a personal note it’s time for me to move forward and I can’t wait to get started!”
Mather’s Kayserispor will likely come a week on Saturday when they welcome Istanbul Basaksehir to the Kadir Has Stadium.
The winger is looking forward to his new challenge, writing on his first IG post as a Kayserispor player: “Time to get to work, @kayserisporfk.”
