ROY KEANE was denied an opportunity to interview Michael Carrick ahead of Saturday’s Manchester derby.
The Irishman, 54, last week claimed that Carrick’s wife Lisa has a “big mouth”.
Appearing on The Overlap, Keane said: “His wife can always come in (if Carrick doesn’t succeed at United), cause she’s got a bit of a big mouth sometimes. She’s probably doing the team talk.”
The feud dates back to when Lisa criticised the former Manchester United captain on social media 12 years ago.
After Keane had accused Carrick of performing a “flat” interview following a 2-0 defeat at Olympiacos, Lisa wrote on social media: “Roy Keane what a **** will say anything to provoke a reaction.”
Just days after his return to Old Trafford as caretaker boss, Carrick faced Manchester City on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

Ahead of the match, Sky chiefs asked for Carrick to perform an interview directly with the studio, which included pundit Keane.
According to the Mail, the request was denied by United officials.
Carrick, 44, instead spoke to his former team-mate Gary Neville in the tunnel.
Ahead of the match, Keane was scathing of the decision to appoint Carrick – labelling United a “circus”.

He said: “We sit here every week talking about Man United being the best of the best and at this moment in time.
“I don’t see that even with the appointment and the staff. But [that] doesn’t mean to say they can’t get results.
“It’s a great opportunity for him and his staff. But of course I’m concerned. And I said that about the previous manager.
“But if they start well and get momentum I still think there’s a great chance for the team to get in the Champions League, which has got to be the aim.”
In his pre-match press conference, Carrick shrugged off pressure that could come from his fellow ex-United stars.
The former Middlesbrough boss said: “They’re not putting more pressure on me.
“I don’t feel that. It’s part of it, the role I understand, plenty of opinions around, some are positive, some not so much.
“But for me, it’s totally irrelevant how I go about work, what I focus on. I know already what we want to improve on, how we want to work with the players.
“There’s a lot of opinions, a lot can be said, it is the way of the world. I’m not going to pay too much attention to most of that. It’s not for me to do that.
“For me, the players and staff, it’s to focus on how we’re gonna succeed, that’s our job, that’s our responsibility. That’s what our minds should be on: what we can do for this club.
“Honestly, it didn’t bother me.”
United produced arguably their performance of the season to deservedly beat City 2-0 at Old Trafford.
And Keane did give Carrick credit after the match.
He said: “Credit where it’s due, absolutely fantastic. Let’s judge it over the next few months.
“The key is now to get momentum into this team, belief, no other distractions, focus on the league matches. There are quality players, we know that.
“They’ve not been consistent enough. Today they’ve had a clean sheet and had two centre-halves and experienced players who can get a partnership together and stay injury free, and all those things can fall into place.
“Players coming off the bench having an effect. He’s done well today but let’s see over the next few months how he does.”
