The Octagon was back at the Apex for tonight’s UFC Vegas 114 event, and four fighters wound up taking home performance bonuses.

The fight card was headlined by a men’s featherweight contest featuring Josh Emmett taking on Kevin Vallejos. The bout proved to be a coming out party of Vallejos. The highly touted prospect was able to get the better of Emmett right from the opening horn this evening. After dropping the American midway through the opening frame, ‘El Chino’ proceeded to finish the former interim title challenger with a flurry of knees and then a fight-ending punch. It was an outstanding performance from the youngster, one which will have him in immediate title contention.

UFC Vegas 114 was co-headlined by a key women’s strawweight bout featuring Amanda Lemos taking on Gillian Robertson. The contest resulted in a hard fought back and forth affair, with Lemos getting the better of Robertson in the opening five mintus, but the Canadian storming back in the final two rounds thanks to her dominant grappling. After 15 minutes of action, Robertson was awarded the unanimous decision victory (29-28 x3).

Following the conclusion of tonight’s event, UFC officials announced at the post-fight press conference that 4 fighters would be taking home performance bonuses.
