Consider Renato Moicano unimpressed by the assignment he had inside the UFC Octagon on Saturday night.
The Brazilian lightweight contender headlined UFC Vegas 115 at the Apex in Las Vegas, where he was tasked with snapping a two-fight losing skid.
He was successful in that endeavor, with Moicano submitting Chris Duncan via a rear-naked choke in round two.
Despite a victory, the one-time title challenger was not all smiles post-fight, and made his displeasure about the matchup known.

Renato Moicano wants better fights after his UFC Vegas 115 win
Both Moicano and Duncan train at American Top Team, but being stablemates did not stop the Brazilian from complaining about the Scotsman’s status as an unknown name to casual fans.
During his post-fight press conference, the 36-year-old called out the UFC for the choice of opposition and venue for his return to action on April 4.
“This Apex card was f—ing s—,” Moicano told reporters. “Dana White, don’t listen to that. But, you’re having Moicano as a main event in f—ing Apex. Are you kidding me?
“And who is f—ing Chris Duncan, brother? That fight doesn’t add to my career, doesn’t add to my YouTube, you know?
“I think it should be a fight that I can promote, like (Brian) Ortega, like Paddy Pimblett, like Dan Hooker. Maybe Benoit Saint-Denis. Somebody that the fans know,” he added.
“It’s not about winning and losing, it’s about getting the most hype. People talking about you because this is the business.”

Moicano lost to Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 in January 2025 after being given a title opportunity on just a day’s notice following Arman Tsarukyan’s withdrawal.
He failed to bounce back after that defeat, instead falling to a decision defeat at the hands of Beneil Dariush at UFC 317 last June.
Having returned to form at Duncan’s expense this past Saturday night, Moicano will be hoping to have his wish to share the cage with a big name like Paddy Pimblett granted.
