Enzo Fernandez’s agent, former Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore, has already been in the headlines for his comments following his client’s ban. Fernandez, just before the international break, cast doubt over his future at Chelsea in the wake of their UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of PSG.
His punishment was a two-game ban. He missed the win over Port Vale in the FA Cup last weekend and will also miss the game against Manchester City this weekend. “The punishment is completely unfair,” said Pastore.

However, Pastore has now cast further doubt over the future of the Chelsea captain. In an exclusive interview with Onze Mondial, he linked Fernandez’s continuation at Stamford Bridge to the club’s qualification for next season’s UCL.

“He will play in the World Cup this summer and finish the season with Chelsea. Now, we’ll wait for Chelsea to qualify for the Champions League because he wants to play in the biggest competitions and he is a winner,” said Pastore. “After that, we’ll see. Honestly, we’re not thinking about that (Fernandez’s future) at the moment.”
Pastore did, however, dampen the Real Madrid links. “I live in Madrid so everyone is saying that he will go to Madrid… but it is more press talk than anything else,” he added. Fernandez’s future may not be the only one linked to a future qualification for the Champions League. Earlier this week, L’Équipe reported that Liam Rosenior’s position as manager would come into question should Chelsea fail to qualify for the competition.
