Francis Ngannou has warned Alex Pereira that Ciryl Gane is a bad matchup for him.
This coming June 14, Alex Pereira makes his anticipated move up to heavyweight when he takes on Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title in the UFC White House co-main event.
‘Poatan’ has been showing his weight transformation over the past few months which has fans extremely excited to see the Brazilian once again go for history on the one-of-a-kind event.
And although Pereira is being backed by Jon Jones’ legendary coach, the majority of the MMA world is seemingly backing the Frenchman to become the interim champion again.
Francis Ngannou backing Ciryl Gane against Pereira
After training with ‘Bon Gamin’ for his title fight, Pereira’s former opponent Artem Vakhitov is now leaning 70/30 in Gane’s favour.
Someone else who is heavily backing the 36-year-old to win on June 14 is Francis Ngannou, who fought and beat Gane back in 2022.
‘The Predator’ somewhat shocked the MMA world when he came out and ended up dominating Gane with his wrestling, which turned out to be the perfect blueprint to beating the French kickboxer.
And having experienced Gane’s slick movement and fast movement firsthand, Ngannou has warned Pereira about the matchup, stating that it isn’t a very good heavyweight matchup for him.
“I don’t know, I have no idea (what Pereira can do to beat Gane,” Ngannou told Helen Yee.
“I think Ciryl has more tools here, and Alex Pereira has his own style, Ciryl Gane has his own style. It’s a very, for me, and I may be wrong, but it’s not a good matchup for Alex Pereira in terms of style.
“Basically, if he’s moving up to the division and has to face a heavyweight that is even lighter on the feet than a light heavyweight, that’s a tough challenge. Yeah, (I favour Ciryl Gane).”

For years now, UFC fans have been calling for a new iteration of the video game and when Dana White gave an update on the game earlier this month, fans grew in excitement.
Fans assumed that Ilia Topuria would be selected as the cover star as he is arguably the biggest current star in the sport, but that isn’t the case.
It was announced earlier this week that Pereira will be the new cover star, with Max Holloway being the cover star of the Ultimate Edition of the game.
