The NFL 2025 schedule is set. Now we wait.

Although the Super Bowl odds didn’t change much after the schedule release, there are some notable slates that could impact the Big Game futures.

While the Arizona Cardinals get thrown into the fire right away, the Los Angeles Rams live on the road for the first four weeks, and the Dallas Cowboys face a competitive conference calendar and some top-tier teams in the first two months.

Here’s a look at a few games with massive futures implications throughout the schedule.

Matchups that will impact the 2027 Super Bowl odds

Week 1: Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans: Sunday, Sept 13, 1 p.m. ET

We get a huge AFC matchup right out of the chute with the Week 1 odds. The Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans are expected to compete for the conference crown, and this opening game could give the winner the inside track.

Houston beat Buffalo last season, and this Texans defense should get some support from the offense with additions on the offensive line and rushing attack. As for the Bills, this Week 1 trip to Texas kicks off an insane opening slate, and a loss is going to be tough to recover from.

Week 7: Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks: Sunday, Oct. 25, 8:20 p.m. ET

A potential Super Bowl preview draws the Sunday Night Football stage in Week 7. If Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs can go into Lumen Field and steal a win from the Super Bowl champs, the rest of the league gets the “The Wire” treatment:

“I want you to put the word out there that we back up.”

The Seattle Seahawks come into this SNF outing on a mini bye after playing at Denver the Thursday before. A Seahawks win in this non-conference game doesn’t just boost Seattle’s stock in the NFC, but would also send Kansas City falling behind the AFC elite.

Week 16: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: Friday, Dec. 25, 1 p.m. ET

Christmas Day features the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears attempting to play Grinch.

Green Bay plays four of its final five games at Lambeau Field, and this trip to the Windy City is the only road contest. Chicago finishes off the year with three straight divisional matchups, so there’s little margin for error.

The NFC North is the most competitive division in football, and a loss late in the season will drastically shake up the NFC pecking order. We could see a No. 1 seed slide out of a bye and end up in the Wild Card Round.
