Another week has come and gone, and it is time to look ahead to the upcoming slate of Major League Baseball action and dive into the fantasy baseball streaming pitchers. I’m here every week to give you suggestions on which pitchers you should stream to win your matchups.
I will be using FantasyPros’ streaming pitchers rankings to help determine my picks. Sync your league to find your own high-potential starters on the waiver wire.
Keep in mind that starters can get off schedule, and some projected starters may be pushed back due to injuries or weather.
First, let’s take a look at last week’s picks:
- J.T. Ginn (SP, RP – ATH) @LAA: 8.0 Innings, 10 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 2 Hits, 1 Walk (Loss)
- Zebby Matthews (SP – MIN) vs. HOU: 6.0 Innings, 6 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 0 Walks (Loss)
- Merrill Kelly (SP – ARI) vs. SFG: 6.0 Innings, 4 Strikeouts, 3 Earned Runs, 8 Hits, 0 Walks (Win)
- Cade Cavalli (SP – WSH) vs. NYM: 7.0 Innings, 9 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 4 Hits, 1 Walk (Loss)
- Connor Prielipp (SP – MIN) @BOS: 4.0 Innings, 1 Strikeout, 5 Earned Runs, 7 Hits, 3 Walks (No Decision)
- Christian Scott (SP – NYM) @MIA: TBD
- Ryne Nelson (SP, RP – ARI) vs. COL: TBD
Total: 31.0 Innings, 30 Strikeouts, 14 Earned Runs, 26 Hits, 5 Walks (1-3)
What. A. Week. This article is being written a day earlier than usual, so we have yet to see how Christian Scott and Ryne Nelson will do, but we got dominance from J.T. Ginn, Zebby Matthews, Merrill Kelly and Cade Cavalli.
Ginn even took a no-hit bid into the ninth inning. Connor Prielipp struggled, but I am more than happy that four of our five streamers recorded quality starts. Let’s aim for more quality this week.
Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers: Week 9
Monday, May 25
Merrill Kelly (SP – ARI) vs. SFG | 27% Rostered
Merrill Kelly has had three consecutive quality starts. However, his expected stats predict him to be among the worst starters in baseball.
Kelly has a long history of outperforming his expected stats:
- 4.16 xERA vs. 3.52 ERA in 2025
- 4.97 xERA vs. 4.03 ERA in 2024
- 4.13 xERA vs. 3.29 ERA in 2023
And so on. The veteran outperforming his current 8.22 xERA with his current 5.71 ERA is something I honestly have not seen many times.
I attribute these rough stats to his rusty first four starts, during which he allowed 21 runs over 19 innings upon returning from injury. I see his more recent starts as a better reflection of who he is, and I love Kelly’s momentum headed into the week.
Consider streaming the 37-year-old righty against the Giants, who have the third-worst team OPS in baseball.
Alternative: Zebby Matthews (SP – MIN) @CWS | 13% Rostered
Tuesday, May 26
Joey Cantillo (SP – CLE) vs. WSH | 25% Rostered
Joey Cantillo has been on this list many times, for good reason. He has shown great potential, but it has come in flashes, which has made him a streamer and not a surefire fantasy rotation arm. I like Cantillo against the Nationals, despite their fourth-best team OPS of .738.
Cantillo has a glimmering 3.05 ERA (3.74 xERA) and a solid 8.2 K/9 ratio. Cantillo has a career 9.6 K/9 ratio. He has historically recorded more strikeouts and has a slider and a curveball with great movement. Expect the strikeouts to improve, even if he regresses to allowing a few more runs.
Alternative: Jack Kochanowicz (SP – LAA) @DET | 5% Rostered
Wednesday, May 27
Logan Henderson (SP – MIL) vs. STL | 16% Rostered
Logan Henderson is by far my favorite streaming option this week. He is not rostered in many ESPN formats, but he may not be available as a streamer in the most active leagues or on other platforms. If Henderson is available, he is a must-add off the waiver wire.
The righty has dominated in four starts since getting the rotation call. He has allowed only five runs in 21 innings as a starter, striking out 27 batters. Henderson has truly been phenomenal.
The 24-year-old rookie has a balanced four-pitch mix that includes a low-mid-90s four-seamer, a change-up with a 33.8% whiff rate, a solid cutter and a rare slider. Despite Henderson’s relatively low velocity, his fastball has already generated 15 strikeouts and has only a .156 batting average against.
Pick up the prospect and keep him.
Alternative: Bubba Chandler (SP – PIT) vs. CHC | 22% Rostered
Thursday, May 28
Brandon Young (SP – BAL) vs. TOR | 3% Rostered
Thursday only has six MLB games, and I have to admit that Brandon Young is not one of my favorite options this week. However, I still see the 27-year-old righty as a serviceable streamer due to limited options.
The Orioles pitcher has been in their system purgatory for a few years now and is finally getting a more concrete chance in the Majors.
Young has earned just about an average 4.25 ERA. He has 22 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. I would recommend streaming other pitchers, but Young seems like the best option on Thursday.
Alternative: Colin Rea (SP – CHC) @PIT | 8% Rostered

Friday, May 29
Lucas Giolito (SP – SDP) @WSH | 11% Rostered
Lucas Giolito has finally been given another chance in the Majors after having a bounce-back season in 2025. He tossed 145 innings last season to a 3.41 ERA, striking out 121 batters. The 31-year-old righty wildly outperformed his expected stats last season (5.06 xERA, .264 xBA), which was a contributor to his delay in finding a new contract.
However, I believe Giolito now belongs to the low-velocity category of pitchers, such as Michael Wacha, Seth Lugo and Merrill Kelly. They consistently throw low-velocity pitches and consistently outperform their expected stats.
I really do not blame you if you stream other options this week. In fact, every MLB team picked other options besides Giolito during the offseason. Regardless, I believe in him until his actual stats say otherwise.
Alternative: Walbert Urena (SP – LAA) @TB | 6% Rostered
Saturday, May 30
Peter Lambert (SP – HOU) vs. MIL | 13% Rostered
Peter Lambert looks like a different pitcher after spending last season in Japan. The 29-year-old righty has a 3.57 ERA (3.44 xERA) in 35.1 innings, with 35 strikeouts.
Lambert has simplified his arsenal since 2024, ditching his curveball and relying on a mid-90s fastball, a change-up with a 34% whiff rate, a hard-to-hit slider, a solid slurve, a high-movement cutter and a nice sinker against righties.
I really like Lambert against the Brewers and their 15th-best team OPS of .701. Stream Lambert and keep an eye on him as a long-term option in deep leagues.
Alternative: Reid Detmers (SP – LAA) @TB | 16% Rostered
Sunday, May 31
Shane Baz (SP – BAL) vs. TOR | 22% Rostered
Shane Baz is having a rough season, but he has been performing better lately. He is amid back-to-back quality starts. If he performs well at the start of the week, he will be an even better consideration.
Baz’s most recent start against the Rays was perhaps his best all year. He threw six innings, allowing only one run and striking out six. It was a simple performance, yet it was his season low in hits allowed (two), and it tied his season low for runs allowed.
Baz has great stuff, but his pitching hasn’t been up to par. Count on him to continue to rebound against the Blue Jays, who have the fourth-worst OPS in the Majors.
Alternative: Merrill Kelly (SP – ARI) @SEA | 27% Rostered
