Joe Rogan recently shared his thoughts on the newest promotion that will be entering the MMA space.
Following several years away from the sport, Scott Coker will be launching a new promotion after receiving $60 million in investments.
Coker believes that his reputation will help them to sign talent following the time he spent as the boss of Bellator and Strikeforce.
Rogan might be rooting for them to succeed, but he recently admitted that he has some doubts about their plans.

Joe Rogan wants Scott Coker’s new promotion to succeed but is concerned about the financials
Ahead of the first MMA event on Netflix, Joe Rogan showed support for Ronda Rousey when she challenged the UFC in the build-up to her comeback fight.
The long-time commentator for the sport’s leading promotion was recently asked what he makes of Scott Coker starting a new MMA promotion.
While he’s a fan of the experienced promoter’s previous work, the finances attached to this new venture raised some alarm bells in Rogan’s head.
“I like Scott a lot but good luck,” he said on the JRE MMA Show. “You only have $60 million? When I saw it was only $60 million, I was like, that sounds like a lot of money until you think about putting on an MMA promotion and then getting television production and then paying fighters and then securing venues and then having staff full-time.
“Maybe. You know, you got Tony Hawk with you, maybe. Look, I’m rooting for him. I think he did great when he was running GLORY as well as when he was running Bellator back in the day.”

Rogan has stated in the past that you need to be in the UFC to be considered the best in the world or to become a big star.
However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want there to be more promotions and competition.
Rogan recently said that he wouldn’t feel good about UFC fighter pay if he owned the promotion, explaining his frustration with athletes having to call for post-fight bonuses.
When speaking on Coker’s plans, the stand-up comedian and podcaster added, “I think it’s great for everybody if there’s more competition” because of how this can increase a fighter’s value.
