Floyd Mayweather responds to Logan Paul’s claim that he still owes him $1.5 million

Logan Paul is convinced that Floyd Mayweather still owes him over $1 million from their exhibition clash five years ago.

Back in 2021, Floyd Mayweather competed in just his second exhibition boxing match when he took on Logan Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

With it having been an exhibition fight, there was no announced winner and the fight was declared a draw after eight rounds of action.

‘Money’ Mayweather boasted earning up to $100 million for the fight he labeled ‘fake’, while Paul earned a guaranteed purse of $250,000, which he later said totaled around $5 million.

The 49-year-old star has been making headlines over the past few months for some unfortunate reasons.

It was announced that Mayweather would rematch Manny Pacquiao this coming September at the Sphere in Las Vegas, however, that planned clash was recently canceled.

Not only that, but Mayweather’s financial problems have been extremely well-documented over the past few months, with UFC boss Dana White even attempting to help him out.

‘The Maverick’, Paul, threatens to worsen his problems, though, as he has been claiming that he is still owed $1.5 million from Mayweather as part of an agreement ahead of their fight.

Paul claimed earlier this year that Mayweather had pre-sold the fight rights to a company in the Middle East for $10 million in cash, using Paul’s name and image to seal the deal. According to Paul, their agreement gave him 15 percent of that amount, which adds up to the $1.5 million he’s chasing.

And earlier this week, Mayweather was finally asked about Paul’s claim, offering an extremely dismissive response.

“I wish him nothing but the best,” Mayweather told Come And Talk 2 Me.

Unfortunately for the WWE star, it doesn’t seem like a matter that is going to be settled any time soon, and with rumors continuing to swirl regarding ‘Money’ Mayweather’s financial constraints, Paul could find himself aimlessly chasing what he believes he is owed.

Mayweather has been offered somewhat of a lifeline, though, as he has been called out by undefeated former champion, Gervonta Davis.

Mayweather used to mentor ‘Tank’, but that hasn’t stopped the lightweight from including him on a potential hit list of opponents.
