All of our best 2026 3M Open predictions, picks, and best bets for TPC Twin Cities.

Photo By – Reuters Connect. Ben James hits his tee shot.

This week’s 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn., follows the conclusion of the final major of the 2026 season. There are just three tournaments to go until the beginning of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, with the season finale — the Tour Championship — set for August 27-30 at East Lake Golf Club.

Scottie Scheffler is the heavy +275 betting favorite in the 3M Open odds‘ outright winner market at BetMGM, while Kurt Kitayama is +2500 to defend his title. This week’s event presents an opportunity for many to sneak into the backend of the playoffs, while Scheffler enters the week atop the season-long standings.

We’re breaking down this week’s odds for the 144-man field to help with your 3M Open predictions and golf picks this week.

    ⛳ 3M Open: Key takeaways

    • Best early bet: Hideki Matsuyama (+2800) – Quality T14 finish in The Open Championship and these odds will shorten significantly in the event World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler withdraws before Thursday’s first round
    • Best early value: Gordon Sargent (+20000) – A co-runner-up in last week’s Corales Puntacana Championship alternate event, these odds are overly inflated in a field that’s not much stronger
    • Course: TPC Twin Cities — designed by Arnold Palmer with renovations led by Tom Lehman and Steve Wenzloff — is a par 71 playing to 7,431 yards, but winning scores since 2019 have ranged from -15 to -24
    • Weather: Conditions throughout the 2026 3M Open are expected to be clear — but hot. Temperatures will reach a high of 95 degrees during Sunday’s final round, with a chance of thunderstorms Sunday afternoon
    • Expected cut: The 144-player field will be cut down to the Top 65 and ties following Round 2

🚩 Course breakdown: TPC Twin Cities

TPC Twin Cities’ Arnold Palmer design helps draw a few big names to this event each year, with it otherwise being a letdown spot on the PGA Tour schedule.

Despite playing over 7,400 yards, the field has had little issue posting low scores since the inaugural tournament in 2019.

It poses a stark contrast to Royal Birkdale’s demanding links layout last week. For that reason, I’m not focusing too heavily on players who played in the year’s final major. The travel and completely different style of play combine to create a sharp shift in strategy and skills.

Water is an issue around the greens, which puts an extra emphasis on approach shots and iron play.

    • Length comes via par 5s with all three topping 590 yards
    • Water is in play on 15 holes and protects five greens
    • Bentgrass greens are a significant contrast for those who played in Scotland and England over the last two weeks
    • Scores are accessible but require a risk-reward balance, with winners often choosing the latter

    Players to watch

    • Scottie Scheffler: The No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking will play this event (and course) for the first time following a T4 in The Open; he was the runner-up in the Travelers Championship as his last stateside event

    • Hideki Matsuyama: Comes off a T14 in The Open but hasn’t played this event since a T30 result in 2023

    • Kurt Kitayama: The defending champion of the 3M Open finished T6 the year before; he finished T40 at Royal Birkdale last week

🔢 Key stats & player profiles to target

    • True strokes gained around-the-green and approach
    • Birdie or better percentage
    • Driving accuracy
    • Proximity from 175-200 yards
    • Bogey avoidance

    Players to watch

    • Scottie Scheffler: Leads the 2026 3M Open field in strokes gained: approach (0.89) and ranks second among qualified golfers with 0.55 SG: around-the-green per round

    • Corey Conners: Among the field leaders in driving accuracy this season while gaining 0.59 strokes per round on approach

    • Jake Knapp: 13th on the PGA Tour in birdie or better percentage this season with more than 0.50 strokes gained per round putting and on approach

💰 Outright 3M Open picks: winners to bet

    Pick 1: Tom Kim +3300

Tom Kim’s missed cut in The Open followed his first PGA Tour victory in three years. It also paused a run that saw him finish third in the U.S. Open and 15th in the Canadian Open. A return stateside to this much less competitive field should have him pick up where he was, and the +3300 odds are grossly inflated by Scottie Scheffler’s presence in the Twin Cities.

    • Course Fit: 0.77 true strokes gained per round (eight career rounds)
    • Recent Form: 1.40 true strokes gained: approach across his last 16 rounds, among the field’s most accurate drivers
    • Key Stat: 18th on the PGA Tour in proximity on approaches from 175-200 yards

Risk: Finished just T46 against a comparable field in the John Deere Classic and has struggled off the tee over his last 16 rounds.

    Pick 2: Ben James +5000

Comes off a career-best T4 finish in the Corales Puntacana Championship and has made five straight cuts, including a T23 in the U.S. Open.

    • Course Fit: Missed the cut in his sole appearance to date (2024)
    • Recent Form: Has gained strokes in all key metrics across his last 16 measured rounds, including 0.64 SG: tee-to-green and 0.25 SG: putting
    • Key Stat: Would rank top 50 on Tour in both birdie-or-better percentage and bogey avoidance if he had enough rounds to qualify

Risk: Has played just five events this year and has still made the cut in only seven of 14 career events.

    Pick 3: Lucas Glover +11000

Lucas Glover is the strongest of my 3M Open long-shot picks this week. He has played his best golf in July and August, with eight top-10 finishes over those months across the past four seasons.

    • Course Fit: Three straight missed cuts but a T7 in 2019
    • Recent Form: T3 in the John Deere Classic and T5 in the ISCO Championship
    • Key Stat: 1.01 true strokes gained: approach over past 16 rounds (1.26 SG: tee-to-green)

Risk: Ranks just 151st in birdie-or-better percentage for the 2026 golf season.
