The Dallas Mavericks have offered a bounty for Cooper Flagg’s NBA Debut Patch autographed card, the big chase in the 2026 Topps Chrome Updates Basketball set, which was officially released Thursday. The one-of-a-kind card includes the Debut Patch that Flagg wore on his jersey during his first NBA regular-season game on Oct. 22, 2025, against the San Antonio Spurs, and has already been the subject of several $1 million-plus bounties — a public offer to whoever pulls a particularly desirable card.

The Mavericks’ offer includes the following in exchange for the card:

    • Two season tickets for 32 years (premium lower level)
    • A Flagg signed, game-worn rookie jersey
    • A postgame photo with Flagg
    • A private photoshoot with the NBA Rookie of the Year trophy and Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy
    • VIP tour of the Mavericks’ practice facility, with a team meet-and-greet
    • A private basketball experience for up to 10 guests at American Airlines Center
    • Road trip experience to see the Mavs versus the Boston Celtics, with airfare, hotel and game tickets provided

    WANTED: THE ONE OF ONE.

When Flagg unveiled the freshly autographed Debut Patch card on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York last month, he mentioned how signing this one felt different than all the others.

“I was a little nervous,” Flagg said. “I’ve signed a lot of cards, but that one was a little nerve-wracking.”

The Debut Patch program was introduced by Topps in partnership with Major League Baseball in 2023. Athletes in sports leagues with Topps licensing deals wear a version of the Debut Patch on their jersey during their first game appearance. The patch is then put into a one-of-one trading card that can be pulled from a pack.

The record sale for a Debut Patch card is the $1.11 million paid for that of star Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, which sold at auction despite his team famously offering a bounty similar to the Mavericks’ offer in November 2024. The card was pulled by an 11-year-old boy in California on Christmas Day 2025. His family decided to sell the card instead of accepting the Pirates’ offer, with Dick’s Sporting Goods winning the ensuing auction and displaying the Skenes card in one of its Pittsburgh area stores.

Last week, a recently released Shohei Ohtani card sold for $11 million after it was the subject of multiple high-value bounty offers. Whether the Flagg Debut Patch card can reach those heights remains to be seen, but with several public bounties already on offer over the $1.11 million paid for the Skenes card, it seems likely to set a new record for a Debut Patch card. Earlier this year, one of the jerseys worn during his NBA debut game sold privately through Sotheby’s for $1 million.

There are 98 other players with NBA Debut Patch cards in 2026 Topps Chrome Updates Basketball, the first NBA set to include the cards. All are signed by the players except for six (VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson, Carter Bryant, Hugo Gonzalez, Jeremiah Fears and Rocco Zikarsky) due to separate autograph rights deals.

Behind Flagg, the second biggest chase is for Dylan Harper’s Debut Patch card, which had a bounty of $1 million placed on it by sports card collector and business owner Jared Bleznick while sitting beside Harper during an eBay Live broadcast at the National Sports Collectors Convention last week.
