College GameDay is heading to Provo, Utah, for Week 7 with No. 2 Notre Dame visiting No. 8 BYU on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC) from LaVell Edwards Stadium. The show will broadcast from BYU’s campus, although the exact set location hasn’t been announced.
Two unbeaten teams and BYU’s first home matchup between top-10 opponents give ESPN plenty to spotlight in Provo before kickoff. Below, we break down the show details, the campus history, and the game itself. You can also follow our 2026 College GameDay schedule for every confirmed stop and future location projection.
Where is College GameDay in Week 7?

The three-hour show airs from 9 a.m. to noon ET (7-10 a.m. MT). The game itself follows at LaVell Edwards Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. MT) on ABC.

Why is College GameDay going to Provo?
BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier did a little of everything in Friday’s 24-10 win over Iowa State, throwing for 329 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another 109 yards. The Cougars improved to 5-0 despite coming up empty on all three fourth-down attempts thanks to a defense that held the Cyclones to just 200 total yards.
Notre Dame brings plenty of firepower of its own. Freshman running back Jonaz Walton rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns, including a 97-yard score, in Saturday’s 58-7 win over Stanford. The Irish are 6-0 and moved up to No. 2 in the AP poll, setting up a road test with major College Football Playoff implications for both teams.
Notre Dame hasn’t played at BYU since the Cougars’ 20-17 win in 2004, though the Irish lead the overall series 7-2 after winning their most recent meeting, 28-20, in Las Vegas in 2022. An unbeaten top-10 matchup is a pretty strong reason to renew acquaintances.
College GameDay history at BYU
Saturday will mark College GameDay’s second football visit to Provo, as its only previous campus stop came when BYU hosted TCU in 2009. The Cougars lost 38-7 in that one, so this return offers a chance to leave fans with a better memory. Here’s a look at BYU’s only completed campus visit:
| Date | Matchup | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Oct. 24, 2009 | TCU 38, BYU 7 |

Who will win Notre Dame vs. BYU?

Kalshi, one of the best prediction market apps, gives Notre Dame a 77% chance to win compared to a 23% chance for BYU. The Irish are clear favorites, but Bachmeier’s ability to hurt defenses with his arm and legs gives the Cougars a way to challenge them.
For Notre Dame, establishing Walton and the running game early would let quarterback CJ Carr show off a powerful arm that has NFL scouts eyeing the redshirt sophomore already. The Irish also need to keep Bachmeier from turning pressure into big gains on the ground. Keep an eye on defensive end Boubacar Traore, who finished with a strip-sack and interception against Stanford; he could be the one tasked with making a game-changing play if Bachmeier is firing away with impunity on Saturday.
If BYU wants to pull off the home upset, it’ll need to convert as many chances as possible. Going 0-for-3 on fourth down was survivable against Iowa State, but leaving those opportunities on the field against Notre Dame likely won’t leave Provo in a celebratory mood on Saturday night. With starting running back LJ Martin expected to miss this matchup, we could see Bachmeier put on the cape to keep BYU ahead of the sticks.
