If you’re not trading, you’re not winning. Every day is a great day to make a trade in dynasty. We all have our targets, but sometimes it can be helpful to look outside of your league to see which players other league managers are targeting. Here are some buy-low dynasty trade targets to acquire as we head into the season.
Buy-Low Dynasty Trade Targets
Kyler Murray (QB – ARI)
Kyler Murray is one of the bigger names going later in startups, and I don’t get why. I understand the hesitation around him due to his size and mediocre performance last year, but QB14 in the dynasty expert consensus rankings (ECR) seems too low. I’d rather take him over Drake Maye (QB10), Jordan Love (QB12) and Brock Purdy (QB13).
All three of those players have similar or more question marks than Murray. If Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr. are going to break out this year, Murray is going to be the reason, so why aren’t people talking about him more? Buy low before the masses catch on.
Kaleb Johnson (RB – PIT)
I get that rookie fever is still in full effect, but Kaleb Johnson is going too low. His current dynasty ECR is RB18, just behind fellow rookie TreVeyon Henderson, injury-prone Christian McCaffrey and ageless wonder Derrick Henry. I’d probably take him over all three of these players due to the combination of his talent and opportunity.
The Steelers could be a rough team this year, but Johnson could benefit the most from the chaos on offense. The Steelers have a propensity to lean on their running backs, especially when nothing else is going right. Buy Johnson now before he becomes a top-12 dynasty back by Week 3.
James Conner (RB – ARI)
Kyler Murray’s teammate, James Conner, makes the list because he’s in line for a huge 2025. Next season? Who knows, but that’s why his dynasty ECR is RB29. He’s ranked just ahead of Giants running backs Tyrone Tracy and Cam Skattebo and just behind Isiah Pacheco and Brian Robinson Jr. I’d gladly take him over all of these players, even in dynasty and at his age. Conner should have a great season, and whether you need his points or not, once he starts scoring them, his value should see a bump. Buy now before the price bump.
Rhamondre Stevenson (RB – NE)
Rhamondre Stevenson’s price keeps dropping, so I’m still buying. At the moment, he’s ranked as the dynasty RB39 in ECR, just behind Trey Benson, Bhayshul Tuten and Jaylen Warren. This is backup running back territory, which feels right, but Stevenson has more upside than those ahead of him.
TreVeyon Henderson should be the next man up, but it might take a few weeks into the regular season until he’s the No. 1 RB in New England. Until then, Stevenson should get plenty of carries and the fantasy points that go along with them. I’m adding him to contending teams if I can get him cheap enough, just in case an injury hits and I need a spot starter in my lineup.
Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ)
I recently mentioned Garrett Wilson in a receivers to target in redraft article for FantasyPros, but wanted to elaborate a little more here. Wilson is currently the dynasty WR12, which feels like his floor. There aren’t any other pass-catching options on the Jets, and no matter who the quarterback is, Wilson will get the lion’s share of the targets. Even if the defense focuses on him, Wilson is too talented to be held back. If Justin Fields is hurt for more than a week or two, now is the time to buy Wilson before his current manager realizes what they have in him.
Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)
Rashee Rice is ranked ahead of Xavier Worthy in dynasty, but I’d much rather take the cheaper player with the higher upside in Worthy. His dynasty ECR is WR26, while Rice is at WR18. Rice is great, but given his recent off-the-field issues and the fact that he only played in four games last year, it wouldn’t be shocking if Rice’s value tumbles slightly in the coming weeks.
Worthy, on the other hand, finished as the WR24 or better in six of his 17 games last year. He’s got a better rapport with Patrick Mahomes and has shown how fast he is on the field. Now is the time to strike before the market adjusts.
Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB)
There has been a lot of Emeka Egbuka love on social media lately, but I’ve been a fan of his for a while now. His dynasty ECR of WR30 seems about right, but I think he’s got a lot of potential to move up the ladder. As the Buccaneers look to move on from Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to Egbuka and others, you’d better grab him now before the transition is over and his value is even higher. It might not happen right away, so maybe waiting until the season starts to buy Egbuka is the move here. Either way, I’ve got my eyes on him now while his price is as low as it is.
Jake Ferguson (TE – DAL)
Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson is a target because of his recent contract extension. The Cowboys signed Ferguson to a new four-year deal, meaning they plan on keeping him around, and at tight end, that’s sometimes all you need. His current dynasty ECR of TE17 is probably as low as it’s going to get over the next 12 months, so buy now.
Dak Prescott returns this year, and all eyes are on that offense with the addition of George Pickens, but Ferguson benefits the most. He has more competition for targets, but the defense also has more players to defend. I fully expect Ferguson to finish as a top-12 fantasy tight end this year, easily outperforming his current TE17 ranking.
