Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Hunter Brown (SP – HOU) vs. BOS
Hunter Brown is excellent at home. According to FanGraphs, he’s tallied a 2.95 ERA, 3.30 xFIP, 1.08 WHIP, 9.2 BB% and 28.4 K% in 146.2 innings at home since last year. Houston’s ace has a decent matchup and outstanding betting info tonight.
The Red Sox are tied for 18th in wRC+ (101) with a 23.3 K% versus righties and tied for ninth in wRC+ (100) with a 26.0 K% on the road in 2025. Boston was also 21st in wRC+ (96) with a 23.3 K% in the previous 30 days. As a result, the Astros are listed as -165 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
Kevin Gausman (SP – TOR) vs. CHC
Unfortunately, Kevin Gausman has a challenging matchup tonight. The Cubs are tied for second in wRC+ (115) with a 20.0 K% versus righties and first in wRC+ (116) with a 20.2 K% on the road this year. Chicago hasn’t been as fearsome lately, ranking tied for 13th in wRC+ (102) with a 21.2 K% in the previous 30 days.
Gausman is equipped to tame Chicago’s potent offense. He’s in pristine form, with the following stats in his previous four starts spanning 26 innings.
- 2.42 ERA
- 3.04 xFIP
- 2.87 SIERA
- 0.73 WHIP
- Two wins
- Three quality starts
- 14.1 SwStr%
- 30.5 CSW%
The betting info is also rock-solid for Gausman. The Blue Jays are -125 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
David Peterson (SP – NYM) vs. ATL
David Peterson loves home cooking. In 121.2 innings at home since last year, the lefty has spun a 2.74 ERA, 3.55 xFIP and 1.24 WHIP with a 7.8 BB% and 21.7 K%. Peterson is also in good form, with a 2.63 ERA, 3.72 xFIP, 4.14 SIERA and 1.21 WHIP in his previous four starts. The lefty has a favorable matchup and even better betting info tonight.
The Braves are 16th in wRC+ (92) with a 23.4 K% versus lefties and tied for 19th in wRC+ (95) with a 22.2 K% on the road this season. Finally, the Mets are -200 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
Walker Buehler is on a flukey heater. His 2.86 ERA in his previous four starts was smoke and mirrors, as evidenced by his 5.23 xFIP, 5.61 SIERA, 11.3 BB% and 12.4 K%. The other shoe will drop, probably tonight. Buehler is also a punching bag for all hitters, ceding a .332 wOBA to 198 right-handed batters and a .385 wOBA to 254 left-handed batters this season.
- Home (Rogers Centre)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.5 Runs/TOR -135
Cade Horton has pitched well in his rookie season. Still, his 3.18 ERA in 15 appearances (14 starts) overstates how well he’s pitched, as evidenced by his 4.28 xERA, 4.41 xFIP and 4.46 SIERA. The Blue Jays have a deep lineup that can rough up Horton. Toronto also has a top-shelf offense by every applicable split, ranking second in wRC+ (116) versus righties this season, second in wRC+ (121) at home this year and first in wRC+ (151) in the previous 30 days.
