There’s an exciting new arrival at Liverpool who can be the next Alexander Isak.

So, it remains to be seen whether the Reds can sign the Swedish international or not. It’s very much a precarious and ever-changing situation.

There are two sides (Isak’s and Liverpool’s) who want to get this deal over the line. However, Newcastle have been resolute in every attempt so far.

Their reluctance to accept that Isak wants to leave the club has driven a wedge between the Magpies and the Swedish international. The relationship between the two of them is now very fraught and at a boiling point, which would give Liverpool hope in securing the deal.

But you just never know what might happen. Newcastle may take an obdurate stance and refuse to give in.

Either way, while Liverpool’s attacking options are thin at the moment, they have good cause for optimism that this won’t be the case in the future.

They have a very exciting 19-year-old forward in Jayden Danns, who has already made his mark for the first team and has averaged a goal or assist ever 91 minutes at U18, U19, U21 and first team level for Liverpool.

Beyond him, Liverpool also signed a future superstar this summer, beating Arsenal in the race for his signature.

We’re talking about Will Wright here, someone who could become the club’s next Isak.

The 17-year-old looked very impressive in his first outing for the Reds in the pre-season game against Athletic Bilbao. Quick and tall, Wright made himself a nuisance while he was on the pitch and was unlucky not to score.

He scored over 50 goals at academy level for Salford City and now he’s settled into the U21s, where he made his competitive debut against Leicester coming on during for the last half an hour of the game.

Isak is obviously the main prize at the moment. But in Wright, Liverpool might have signed a future Isak. There are shades of the current Newcastle forward in his style of play.

The way he can finish from every angle, from short and long distance. How he’s able to carry the ball, and use his speed – these are quintessential Isak traits.

Not to mention he has a similar gait and towering height that just makes him a nuisance for defenders.

Wright is a special talent. Someone Liverpool have backed to succeed and who they see enormous potential in. The fact that the Reds beat Arsenal to his signature shows they are not the only ones who believe Wright has an exciting future.

So, he’s one to keep an eye on. In Wright Liverpool might have just signed the next Isak.
