This year, I’m personally writing our Tournament Takes article as a chance to dive into how I’m approaching roster percentages and my exposure in large field GPPs.
I’ll discuss our Roster Percentage Report and where I differ from it, discuss ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.
I don’t want to simply repeat what I’ve done throughout the week so here are those articles if you need a chance to catch up:

Roster Percentage Thoughts
My goal is to walk position-by-position through our Roster Percentage Report and talk through the most popular players. Our DFS Optimizer is a great place to compare projections, roster percentage, and overall game environments for GPPs. These percentages are based estimates using historical averages in large field tournaments.
Quarterbacks
NOTE: Our Optimizer will update with our Marcus Mariota projections at some point today. My initial guess is he will end up around 6-8% with Wentz’s slightly coming down to 5%.
- Going the cheap QB route this week (Mariota or Wentz) in tournaments comes with a few questions. Who is being stacked with either one? Is it McLaurin or Ertz? Are you paying up for Justin Jefferson?
- I expect Dak and Caleb Williams to be one of the QBs in roughly 25-30% of small field tournaments. That may sound like a lot but with affordable stacking partners outside of CeeDee Lamb, it can still work. There are numerous late swap options as I’ll detail below.
- In terms of stacking partners, be careful of locking in Keenan Allen in every single Herbert lineup. With two TDs in the first two games, he has been fortunate if you were to compare historically to his career.
- Drake Maye is not catching as much roster percentage with the $4K QBs emerging. A skinny stack with Hunter Henry is going to come in super low if you want to go that route in a game Betz highlighted on Friday’s podcast
