Khamzat Chimaev is not done reminding those who picked against him at UFC 319.
It’s been just over a month since Chimaev had gold wrapped around his waist for the first time on MMA’s biggest stage.
The Chechen star completed an undefeated rise to a UFC title, which many had long touted him for, in the main event of UFC 319 in Chicago. Chimaev dominated Dricus du Plessis to bring the South African’s reign to an end in his third defense.
While focus has since turned to who could challenge ‘Borz’, the newly crowned king at 185 pounds has not yet completed his victory lap, which most recently saw Chimaev arrive at the door of his pre-fight doubters.

Despite Chimaev’s largely one-sided career in the cage, predictions were widely split when it came to his first title shot. That was largely down to Du Plessis’ habit of proving people wrong in the UFC.
But ‘Stillknocks’ ran his course in that regard at UFC 319, when he was soundly defeated across a 25-minute main event that saw him offer little resistance to Chimaev’s near-record grappling performance.
Among those who no doubt watched on in shock were a number of prominent UFC figures who picked against Chimaev.
The champ recently mocked the likes of Israel Adesanya, Alexander Volkanovski, Michael Bisping, and Chael Sonnen by posting a compilation of their pro-Du Plessis predictions on X.

After being handed his first loss in the UFC and first setback in pro MMA since 2017, Du Plessis is keeping his chin up.
The South African has remained positive and vowed to bounce back since the defeat in Chicago, and in his most recent post regarding the result, Du Plessis sent a defiant message to his doubters.
“If you think your hate has any (effect) on me go look at the CV,” Du Plessis wrote on Instagram.
