Let’s take a look at whose fantasy football stock went up or down after Week 3’s performances as we head into Week 4. Let’s dive into this week’s risers and fallers.
Fantasy Football Stock Report: Week 4
Fantasy Football Risers
Jordan Mason (RB – MIN)
Jordan Mason was dominant in his first start for the Vikings, running all over the Bengals for 116 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. Without Aaron Jones, Mason slotted in as a true bell cow back, playing on 76% of the offensive snaps and handling 76% of the team’s carries, while running a route on 64% of Carson Wentz‘s dropbacks before resting in the fourth quarter. Mason may have already taken over the backfield, but he has RB1 upside as long as Jones is out for at least three more games.
Quinshon Judkins (RB – CLE)
Early Sunday morning, Ian Rapoport broke the news that second-round rookie (No. 36 overall), Quinshin Judkins would get the start, despite being unsigned for most of the offseason, missing Week 1, and playing on only 27% of the Browns’ offensive snaps in his NFL debut. Even against a stout Packers defense, Judkins was dominant on the ground, rushing for 94 yards and a score, while handling 95% of the team’s carries. In just over a game of action, Judkins already leads all rookies in rushing yards (155) entering Week 4, averaging a league-high 4.8 yards per carry on runs hit at or behind the line of scrimmage.
Trey Benson (RB – ARI)
Trey Benson was already a much larger part of the offense in year two, playing 33% and 44% of the team’s offensive snaps in Weeks 1-2, after clearing 30% only once in 13 games as a rookie. With James Conner exiting early in the third quarter with an ankle injury, Benson posted a career-high 61% snap share in Week 3, handling 13 touches on 14 opportunities for just over 50 yards from scrimmage (51). Unfortunately, Conner’s injury was serious enough to require season-ending surgery, locking in Benson as the lead back for Arizona going forward.
Luther Burden III (WR – CHI)
Luther Burden had just two yards on two receptions entering Week 3, breaking out to the tune of 101 yards and a touchdown in his third career game. He led the Bears in receiving, despite seeing only three targets and running a route on 25% of Caleb Williams‘s dropbacks. However, as a young player with second-round draft capital (No. 39 overall), Burden should see an uptick in playing time, especially if Colston Loveland misses time after exiting mid-game with a hip injury.
Fantasy Football Fallers
Mike Evans (WR – TB)
Mike Evans got off to a hot start in Week 3, scoring his first touchdown of the season early in the first quarter, but was shut down for most of the day, catching four balls for 33 yards despite seeing eight targets and leading the team with a 28% target share. Unfortunately, Evans suffered a hamstring injury late in the game and will likely miss the next two to four weeks, facing much stronger target competition once he returns with Chris Godwin set to come back as soon as this weekend.
James Conner (RB – ARI)
James Conner was bottled up in Week 3, handling 12 touches on 13 opportunities for 37 scoreless yards before suffering an ankle injury and getting carted off early in the third quarter. Unfortunately, the injury will require surgery, putting an end to Conner’s season and possibly his career.
CeeDee Lamb (WR – DAL)
CeeDee Lamb’s day was over before it even started in Week 3, handling a jet sweep early in the first quarter for a loss of one yard and exiting with an ankle injury. He came back for one snap before getting shut down for the game with what is being diagnosed as a high-ankle sprain. Given the timeline of the injury, Lamb could be placed on the injured reserve (IR) list, set to miss multiple weeks with a high risk of reinjury even when he returns.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB – NYG)
Tyrone Tracy Jr. was outsnapped and outplayed by Cam Skattebo in Week 2, but still got the start Sunday night, handling nine touches on 10 opportunities for 36 yards before dislocating his shoulder. The injury will likely sideline Tracy for two to four weeks, giving way to Skattebo to completely take over the backfield.
