George Springer, whose Game 7 ALCS homer catapulted the Toronto Blue Jays to the World Series, exited Monday’s Game 3 with an apparent injury.

On the first pitch of the seventh inning in a 4-4 game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Springer took a hefty swing and appeared to have hurt his oblique area on the foul ball. He grimaced as he walked towards the visitors’ dugout at Dodgers Stadium and was grabbing at his right side. He headed straight for the clubhouse with a trainer.

Ty France entered as a pinch-hitter.

Entering Monday, Springer had been dealing with a series of injuries this postseason, including knee and wrist issues.

Before Game 3 in Los Angeles, Blue Jays manager John Schneider was asked how surprised he’d be when Springer unveils the full slate of ailments he’s playing through this October.

“Scale of one to 10?” Schneider said. “Seven.”

Springer had been 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the game. Bo Bichette gave the Blue Jays a 5-4 lead with two outs in the inning, driving in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from first.
