TORONTO — A spectator descended from the left-center field fence and attempted to storm the field with an American flag during the sixth inning of Game 6 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, temporarily disrupting play.
As Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was warming up for the bottom half of the sixth, a spectator clad in a blue sweatshirt hurdled himself over the fence and dropped onto the warning track — a height of 12 feet and 9 inches, according to a Rogers Centre dimension chart. He was slow to his feet but began to run onto the field anyway.
The spectator attempted to pull an American flag out of his pocket but dropped it. Seconds later, he was taken down by three security guards.
