Paddy Pimblett left Michael Chandler with a Brock Lesnar-like scar after brutal UFC beatdown

Following in the footsteps of fellow amateur wrestling ace Brock Lesnar, UFC lightweight star Michael Chandler shares a rather unwanted similarity with the heavyweight star.

Yet to book his return to action since earlier this year, one-time title challenger Michael Chandler suffered a surprise knockout loss at the hands of Paddy Pimblett.

Prior to that, Chandler had been put to the sword by former champion Charles Oliveira in their rematch, after Road House 2 castmate Dustin Poirier beat him into submission.

However, on the back of his most recent setback, the Missouri star was left with an uncanny post-fight blemish all too similar to that of Brock Lesnar.

Michael Chandler shows off brutal scar

Yet to give up the ghost on a long overdue pairing with former two-weight champion Conor McGregor, Chandler has voiced his hope to finally see the clash land on next summer’s White House card.

But first occupied with a return to his wrestling roots before the end of the year against a common foe of the Dubliner, Chandler will enter the Octagon next time round sporting a rather notable injury.

Brutally split open in the third round by Liverpool star Pimblett, Chandler ate a brutal jump knee from the grappling star, sending blood down his face and onto the canvas.

Chewed up on the mat by Pimblett, Chandler was stopped with strikes for just the second time in his young yet active Octagon run.

    Brock Lesnar’s similar facial injury

Himself sporting an uncanny facial injury to Chandler, years before the former Bellator MMA star’s move to the promotion, Lesnar was badly beaten by another heavyweight icon.

Putting the divisional crown on the line for the final time in his tenure, Lesnar was blown away by Cain Velasquez in the opening round of their UFC 121 title outing, not before suffering a gnarly laceration just below his left eye following a beatdown from the Salinas star.
