The New York Giants have hit the reset button once again, parting ways with Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start.

With another rebuild on the horizon, the Giants’ next head coach odds have already become one of the hottest talking points in the NFL betting world.

The only question now — does New York stay in-house, or swing big for a fresh voice to steer the franchise forward?

Let’s take a bite out of the latest NFL odds as the coaching carousel heats up.

New York Giants next head coach odds

    Odds as of 11-10.

Analyzing the Giants’ next head coach favorites

    Mississippi Lane Kiffin

One of two things needs to happen before Lane Kiffin’s name stops popping up with every vacant head coaching job, whether in college or the NFL.

Either he signs an extension with Mississippi, or September rolls around and he’s still pacing the sideline for the Rebels’ opener against Charlotte.

Until then, speculation won’t stop, especially when a potential reunion with his former quarterback, Jaxson Dart, gets tossed into the rumor mill.

Dart thrived under Kiffin, posting career highs with 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024. And with the New York Giants? Well, stranger things have happened.

    Chargers Jesse Minter

Jesse Minter appears to be the next “it” defensive coordinator poised for a head coaching shot.

He’s got the Los Angeles Chargers’ defense rolling right now, sitting inside the Top 10 in defensive EPA per play, a major leap from where this unit has been in years past.

With the Giants already boasting a solid front, Minter’s scheme could push their defense into elite territory while he works to bring the offense up to speed.

    Seahawks Klint Kubiak

While Kliff Kingsbury may be the name everyone points to for jumpstarting the offense, Klint Kubiak might actually be the better hire.

He’s got the Seattle Seahawks’ attack humming as one of the league’s most explosive units — and he’s doing it with Sam Darnold under center.

Jaxson Dart is still young, but he’s an elite talent who could take the next step under an offensive mind like Kubiak.

Few coaches are doing more with less right now, which is exactly why Kubiak should be one of the Giants’ first calls.

    🏈 Mike McCarthy

If the New York Giants want to go the route of experience, Mike McCarthy fits the bill.

The Giants know him well from his time with the Dallas Cowboys, and while he might not be a “sexy” hire, he’s one who would bring stability.

Inheriting a young roster, McCarthy would have the time to retool the right way and build a culture that could bring the Giants back to respectability.

But this is New York, and as history shows, the conventional hire doesn’t always pan out.

    Recent Giants coaching history

It’s been a rough ride for the Giants since the Tom Coughlin days. Ever since he stepped down after the 2015 season, New York’s been searching for the right voice to get this franchise back on track.

Ben McAdoo was the first to take a swing, and things actually started well — 11 wins and a playoff berth in Year 1. But by the next season, the wheels completely fell off, and he was gone before the year even ended.

Then came Pat Shurmur in 2018, and his two-year run wasn’t much better. Nine wins total, and another coaching change followed. Joe Judge got his shot next, and while there were flashes of toughness, the offense never really clicked. He lasted only two seasons, too.

Brian Daboll looked like he might finally be the guy after that surprise playoff run in 2022, even winning Coach of the Year. But things spiraled fast. A messy 2024 and this year’s 2-8 start brought things right back to Square 1.

Now the Giants are hitting reset — again — hoping this next hire can finally stop the carousel and bring some long-term stability to New York.
