WREXHAM have added Jay Rodriguez to their 25-man squad – and he could make his first appearance since April on Boxing Day.
The Red Dragons have failed to win any of their last five matches, leaving them seven points adrift of the play-off places.
But boss Phil Parkinson will be able to call upon Rodriguez, 36, when they host Sheffield United on Friday.
The striker has been drafted into Wrexham’s 25-man squad with immediate effect as Elliot Lee’s replacement.
A club statement read: “With Elliot Lee currently recovering from injury, he has been removed from the squad and Jay Rodriguez added.
“Rodriguez, who has now returned to training after recovering from his own injury, is available for selection from our Boxing Day fixture against Sheffield United.”

Lee, 31, underwent knee surgery and has not played a single minute in the Championship this season.
The playmaker was forced to go under the knife after seeing a specialist and will be out of action until 2026.
Rodriguez joined Wrexham from Burnley in the final stages of the winter transfer window earlier this year.
He went on to play a key role in the Welsh side sealing a third successive promotion last season.

But Rodriguez has not been available for a competitive fixture since featuring in a comfortable win against Charlton in April.
The former Southampton marksman was omitted from the 25-man squad submitted by Wrexham in early September after suffering an ankle injury in pre-season.
Rodriguez won his only England cap in November 2013, when the Three Lions suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chile.
And he will be tasked with spearheading Wrexham up the Championship table after his return.
The Red Dragons have risen from the National League since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed a takeover in 2021.
