UFC CEO Dana White puts one all-time rivalry above the rest in UFC history.
The UFC is weeks away from returning to action after a lengthy hiatus. Another big rivalry could potentially kick off as Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes square off in the UFC 324 co-main event.
Harrison and Nunes are former teammates turned rivals. Nunes, who hasn’t fought since retiring at UFC 289, returns to the Octagon to potentially reclaim the women’s bantamweight throne.
UFC CEO Dana White is looking ahead to what should be a busy 2026 for MMA and boxing. Zuffa Boxing is set to launch later this month in White’s latest venture.
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov headlined one of the biggest cards in UFC history, culminating in an intense feud that remains today. But White believes one rivalry surpasses Nurmagomedov/McGregor as the greatest feud in the promotion’s illustrious past.
Dana White puts Jon Jones/Daniel Cormier ahead of other UFC all-time rivalries
In a recent interview with Barstool Sports, White called Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier the greatest UFC rivalry over Khabib vs. McGregor.
“It would absolutely be those two,” White said.
“They first fought in the lobby of the MGM. Yeah, [Dave] Sholler blew that one. The hardest thing is, when you’re there, you are not there for a photo op. You are there to make sure these guys don’t touch or disrespect each other. Once somebody feels disrespected, they’ve gotta get theirs in.
“I don’t care who you the f— you are, you are not stopping s— once some of these guys decide to go.” (h/t Bloody Elbow)
Jones and Cormier reunited as coaches on ALF Reality 3, a Russian MMA reality television show. The two-time rivals have teased a potential trilogy matchup in either wrestling or boxing.
In either case, a third chapter in the Jones vs. Cormier rivalry might be a venture for White to pursue for Zuffa Boxing.
