Quite a bit of NFL conversation this week has rightfully surrounded John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin, two coaches who have spent much of the past two decades in very similar situations. They’ve jockeyed against one another for division titles. Both have regularly chased deep playoff runs. They’re almost always competitive, too, even when leading teams not quite built for the deepest January runs.
So, how much do you know about their similarities and differences?
This 10-question quiz isn’t the easiest. In some ways, that reflects how much their careers have overlapped and progressed, letting them build up so much in common.
Now their paths appear to be diverging. Harbaugh is poised to join the New York Giants next season after his firing from the Baltimore Ravens. Tomlin chose to step back from coaching with his exit from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The league will undoubtedly feel different as a result next season. Perhaps some of these answers will no longer hold true?
